It doesn't sound like a problem that can be fixed with new gear oil. Try another shop, they should be able to hear where the sound is coming from when the car is lifted.

But with car lifted it is possible simulate the noise when accelerating? I'm dealing with the problem at the Nissan official shop and even then they're not being able to diagnose the problem. Going to another shop, I dont know if it is a good idea...But thanks for the suggestion.

The noise may still be there just quieter when the car is lifted, but if your dealer already tried to put the car in drive while lifted then I guess they tried. Another option is to find a shop that also does smoke check and put the car on a dynamometer. I don't think you can get under the car while it's on a dyno, but it may help to get a better idea where the sound is coming by listening from outside.

Thanks again Valdemar. I will see in the next days what to do. Best regards.

Hi again!
I purchase a mini camera to record the noise of my car under drive conditions.
In this vídeo the camera are in front right chassis, close to the right drive shaft.

In this another vídeo is the same but in the left side.

Ear with special attention from second 53 in the aceleration. For me its so clear the noise. What is your opinion? Could be joint kit of the transmission?

Best regards.

I think it is the reduction gear. I have replaced everything from the tires to the cv axials that go into the reduction gear. I have the exact same sound humming above +/-50 mph and clicking at really low speeds. I have brought it into Nissan three times and two different dealerships and none of them have it fixed.

Thanks coolorangecat for your feedback and opinion. This is a serious problem! And at this moment you still without fixe it?
And Nissan never assumed that the problem was from reduction gear? How did you really come to the reduction gear diagnosis? Where I could have more information about the reduction gear and why does this problem originate? Manufacturing defect, driver neglicense, etc., etc?
In my case i dont have no doubt that the problem has got worse over time and I hear the noise at higher speeds already.
At this moment my car have 12 months warranty from the seller and i must have all possible information to solve this problem!

Have you checked if there is rust on your disks brakes. The sound seems to be more loud, I suppose after you brake, before accelerating. This is the opinion of my brother, a mechanic, after hearing yours recordings.

Hi ydrape! I Will check but I think this kind of noise has nothing to do with rust on the brake discs. In the last maintenance the mechanic even commented that the brake system were like new. The car have 35k miles.
Best regards.

Hi All!
3 months ago I bought a nissan leaf 1 mk2 of 10/2015 which currently has 35k miles. From the first day I noticed a noise at low speeds( 20-40 km/h) only in aceleration. Whenever I take my foot off the accelerator the noise stops.
I this vídeo look at the acceleration and regeneration engine chart and see how the noise does only when i accelerate.

To understand better this problem I purchase a mini camera to record the noise of my car under drive conditions.

Do you think this kind of noise making only on acceleration is compatible with a possible reduction gear problem or defect?

Best regards

I opened a new forum thread to open the discussion to more people and get their opinion.

Thanks for all support in this thread. Feel free to participate in the new topic.

It's possible as the bearings will be loaded when under acceleration. First thing I would check is whether or not there is sufficient lubricant. This is done by removing the filler plug and checking with a finger. Likewise, check the axle joints to make sure the rubber boots are intact. Any cracks or damage to the rubber boots can allow the internal grease to become contaminated. If a bearing is damaged it's probably a labor-intensive project of working your way in from the wheel and checking for rough or loose bearings. Get a copy of the service manual.

Why do you think this needs a new topic? I'm inclined to just merge that one with this.

EDIT: Done. This was and is the appropriate topic for this issue.

Hi.
I've been to the Nissan shop dealer twice and they are unable to detect the source of the problem.
In the first attempt to solve the problem the Nissan Shop dealer diagnosed a problem in rear wheel bearings and i replaced both.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/u1ANL8wGsig5PfMz8

Continuing with the problem a 2 weeks ago I anticipated the 4 year maintenance to try solve this problem, but sadly they dont detect the source of it. I was informed that they observed the axles, the lubrication, etc. and apparently all is fine. The rubber boots are also intact.
They informed me, however, that the gear oil is a bit dark (see link bellow ) and recommended replaced it, not guaranteeing that this would solve the problem. The specific reference of gear oil are out of stock and I am waiting they arrive.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/xWs1NKRPEdfHYMeQA

If everything remains the same after replacing the gear oil, they are told that the next step is to remove the gear out to check for any problems or defects.
Since the diagnosis is not easy and the research I have done in Web indicate that similar symptoms may be reduction gear I am a little worried about the situation.
On the other hand it can be something more simple like joint kit of the transmission, I dont know!?
Because of that, and before going to Nissan Shop dealer for the third time, I bought the camera to try my own way to get more information to help them make a correct diagnosis.
Any aditional information obtained in this thread Will be precious for me.

Best regards.

You might try several runs with that camera, moving it in steps from the wheel area to the gearbox area, and then compare the recordings to see where the noise seems loudest. Might help locate a bit better.

Thanks Nubo. As soon as possible I Will do more vídeos acording your sugestion. After I post the results. Best regards.

Hi people!

After a long process to dignosis the problem of the noise my Leaf NISSAN came to the conclusion that it would really be a gear reduction problem. Nissan Europa has taken over the repair under the 5-year warranty or 100,000 km.
It was replaced last week and the car is spotless now. Thank you for your help.
