Is the UK getting the mid level Tesla 3? They mention a 60kW battery and 254-300ish miles of range. It’s also significantly more expensive then the SR+ here.

Not sure if you've changed your tires, but the OEM tires for the leaf are Bridgestone Ecopia's. So they didn't start off the same, but your current setup might have the same. Although "Michelin energy savers" doesn't ring a bell as to the specific model.

My LR RWD (should be the same as with any tesla with 18" wheels) has the base tires and they're Michelin Primacy MXM4to green (low-rolling resistance, foam inside, and supports heavy load) V-rated (the leaf can use T, U, and H rated tires - why spend more for features you can't use?).

Different tires and a smaller diameter as well. My S was a 16" rim with a hubcap and Ecopias while the SV (and SL) are on a 17" rim with no hubcap and Energy Savers.

The Ecopias were pretty cheap to replace (lasted 40k miles) at the local Firestone store, not sure about these new ones yet hopefully I don't find out for a few years.
 
Telsa 3 sales have started to inch higher again in Norway after a few months of almost nothing. EGolf and Nissan still battling for the monthly sales lead.

The 1 big month of model 3 puts it ahead for the year, but still has a long way to go to catch the other cars.

I wouldn't worry too much about monthly differences in sales data. Everything currently comes out of the Fremont factory, and they try to minimize shipping costs, so deliveries will always come out lumpy.

Model 3 sales might not beat out e-golf this year, or the leaf next year, but it inevitably will.
 
Anyone on this board have to do much out of warranty maintenance yet?

When will generic parts (non Tesla) start coming out? Looks like Tesla has quite a premium for parts currently.

warranty on the 2012 Model S is 8 years unlimited miles....so everyone is still under warranty. And this is a Model 3 thread, so for sure all are under warranty.

Rich's cars are not under warranty because they are salvage vehicles.

No it's not. 8 years on the S is only for battery and drive unit. Unlimited mileage on battery and DU didn't apply to early 60 kWh cars nor the 40 kWh (which were 60 kWh cars software limited to 40) cars: https://www.tesla.com/support/vehicle-warranty.

Rest of the car is only warranted for 4 years/50K miles.

Plenty of folks have had to pay for out of warranty repairs on the S like $800+ door handles, expensive half shafts (https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/clunking-sound-is-costing-me-a-bundle-to-fix-out-of-warranty.93857/) or other stuff like MCUs, OBCs, or LCDs that leak, fail or develop bubbles.

Not if they're past 50K miles. It also seems like Tesla is no longer willing to cover squeaks and rattles under the 4 year/50K basic warranty. From what I gathered, it's covered only for a short period (e.g. 1 year/12K or 15K miles). It seems to have started recently (e.g. this year). Examples below:

Are squeaks and rattles a covered item for other cars? It wasn't for my Odyssey, unless it was related to the drivetrain.

Yes. They've always been covered for the duration of the "bumper to bumper" 3 year/36K warranty on my current and previous cars (e.g. '02 Maxima, '04 350Z, '06 Prius, both '13 Leafs). Have not yet "taken advantage" on my '19 Bolt yet.

For Tesla, it seemed like they were doing the same until sometime this year. Now they've changed their mind for the worse. Folks have pointed out verbiage like this in https://www.tesla.com/sites/default/files/downloads/Model_3_New_Vehicle_Limited_Warranty_NA_en.pdf
Additional Limitations and Exclusions

Model 3 drivers on the forum.

Realistically, how far can you drive at 65-70 on a normal 60-70F day when not using any AC/Heat? I am asking as we may be looking for another car to dump our last ICE vehicle (2007 Kia Sedona with only 60K miles for anyone interested), and looking at a number of options.

In some (not all reviews and you tubers), it looks like the SR+ will do a realistic 200 miles and the LR about 260-270 at a shot(assuming I am running the car down to 5%, but not sub 1%). Now I am a conservative driver (hence my longer Leaf Plus runs), so would hope to do a little better than those numbers, but trying to get a feel for what you are experiencing. My colleague has an X, but claims significantly less than the EPA for the car, but I know also has a heavy foot, so not too surprising. She calls the miles on the dash "electric miles" which are less than real miles, do discount 3 for 2 or 2 for 1 in winter. They have a 3 LR as well, and say it can go farther (maybe 250..which sounds pretty low given EPA), but again heavier feet is my guess.

I did see one Illinois you tuber (Tech Forum), show recently that his runs from Chicago to Springfield ~210 miles) would take him down from 318 (LR RWD) down to 20 miles, but I don't know at what speed.

As we have 3 kids, I might consider a used X (I can't all 5 of us in the Plus for 200 miles..though I have done 4 for extended trips in the Leaf). Not sure we want 2 5 seaters, but as the oldest is off to college soon, it might not be too much of an issue, and it seems the 3 has fewer potential for problems. I would like to look at the Niro, and EQC/M but don't think any of those are coming to the midwest anytime soon.

I have looked at teslalike, and maybe on a flat track at 85F with no wind might be theoretical, but they seem slightly optimistic given what I see posted in the Tesla forums.
