Looks like Tesla hasn't given up on Bishop Superchargers after all:

That's a good location, especially for people heading up to the trailheads at N. Lake/Lake Sabrina/S. Lake (BTDT), although I'd personally prefer something closer to Schat's Bakery. It's definitely a better location than the EA site under construction at the Von's.

Update on Bishop Supercharger:

Tesla has finalized their agreement with the City of Bishop for their supercharger!!! Long overdue. This was unanimously approved by the city council during their meeting of 9/23/2019.

12 stalls (not clarified if Urban, classic or V3)
Location: 151 S. Warren St, Bishop, CA 93514.

See: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/supercharger-bishop-23-oct-2019-city-council-approves-agreement-with-tesla-12-stalls.44706/page-3

Actual agreement: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/attachments/tesla-bishop-agreement-pdf.469271/

I saw a note the other day that supercharge.info recently was tracking 200 SuCs under construction at the same time.

But I think part of that was that a number of SuC sites were in a mid-construction pause as they seemed to have been waiting on V2 pedestals. Whatever the delay was, it appears to have ended in the last 2 weeks, as a number of SuCs that were waiting all got finish, like the ones in Maine.

Someone posted this on a Bolt forum I'm on.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1uFudf37JU

Part of his description was this:
"Tesla Energy Crisis - Thanksgiving 2019 @ San Luis Obispo, CA Supercharger Station. 15+ Teslas waiting to recharge at 4:45pm Thanksgiving Day..... The previous day, Tesla brought a Megapack that is said to be good for charging ~100 Teslas seen here - https://youtu.be/nrog1Zx7-iQ
"Tesla supercharging stations charge with up to 150 kW of power distributed between two cars with a maximum of 150 kW per car, depending on version. They take about 20 minutes to charge to 50%, 40 minutes to charge to 80%, and 75 minutes to 100% on the original 85 kWh Model S.""

I looked around on Plugshare and it doesn't look like there's much CHAdeMO in the area either. So, only a few folks at a time could've been helped by the $450 CHAdeMO adapter if they brought one along.

Finally. I have been driving that road for may years to my place in Mammoth and this adds more flexibility and an excuse to stop at Schats.

On of the Bolt FB groups I'm on pointed to these crazy lines at Kettleman City SCs on I-5 over Thanksgiving weekend: https://www.facebook.com/shanon.stellini/videos/10221275983794800/?fref=mentions.

https://www.thedrive.com/news/31274/more-teslas-on-the-road-meant-hours-long-supercharger-lines-over-thanksgiving (which I found via a thread on TMC) pointed to it, as well.

It would be interesting to know how long did people in that line wait for SC spot - since its 40 stall station and just under 40 car (37 if I counted them correctly) the wait might have been "only" around 30 minutes.

It isn't just Kettleman City. With 40 stalls, I expect that the line moved very quickly. By contrast, I was fourth in line waiting for three (of four) working stalls in Gallup NM last Wednesday late afternoon. Took me hours to get my charge and that delay caused me to hit a snowstorm. Ended up driving 90 miles in heavy snow on I-40 to get to Albuquerque — had I been able to just charge and go I'd have missed the snowstorm. It was a very tense drive; didn't help that I was likely the only car on that entire section of I-40 with snow tires — I kept waiting for a Spokane-style pileup. On Sunday morning I was second in line for three (of six) working stalls at the Albuquerque Supercharger Station. Kettleman City may get all the attention but some of the remote stations could use some TLC.

So, forty cars in line may look impressive but I expect that there were lots of places where the small lines meant a much longer wait, as happened to me.

Has anyone seen any of the newer V3 stations slow down during high load periods and high traffic to minimize the peak load fees in CA? It sounds like some have battery systems to store during night time, but imagine even those are exhausted when lines get this bad.

TC1 lite up today. v3 superchargers (no pedestal A/B sharing)

Still none in North Dakota. They were "coming in 2019", but 2019 is now over.

Now "coming in 2020".

Indeed they've done that a few times. I recall Great Falls, MT being there a few years.

Good news is they actually physically *started* construction on the new ones in MT and ND.

One that will make ski season easier (Bethel, ME, next to Sunday River Ski Area) moved from "Target opening in late 2019" to "Target opening in 2020". No construction yet.

Another one that would have been useful is in Williamsport, PA (my son's wedding was there) and construction started 2 months ago. It isn't even listed on Tesla's map.

How does Tesla decide where to put Supercharger stations?
Tesla Superchargers enable long distance travel and convenient charging in urban areas. We use precise energy modeling and locate Superchargers near amenities, such as hotels, restaurants and shopping areas. Attract Tesla drivers to your property by hosting a Supercharger station. You may submit your property suggestion here. https://www.tesla.com/charging-partners

Did you even read my post? The two locations I mentioned are *already* SuperCharger locations Tesla is building/planning.

Yes with Bishop being such an expansive and large town.

Yes. It is unclear they have a location so if you have ideas then make suggestions vs complaining and being condescending on a forum.

1) "Target opening in late 2019" to "Target opening in 2020". No construction yet.

2) Another one that would have been useful is in Williamsport, PA (my son's wedding was there) and construction started 2 months ago. It isn't even listed on Tesla's map.

I fail to see how I am being condescending (unlike you). Nor am I complaining.

Tesla has had a huge surge in Maine construction in 2019 and I noted many, including myself, had been hoping to see construction in Bethel before this years' ski season.

My second was to note that Williamsport is under construction, yet isn't listed on Tesla's map still.
