about amps and kW vs. battery temp. I wonder how accurate that is. Unfortunately, I had no (and still have no) means of reading battery temp. But, it sounds like it was likely semi-right/close.
interesting. The optimal temp for the Bolt is nearly the same optimal temp for LEAF charging. Only difference is LEAF charges full speed at the beginning but starting temp of batteries appears to control the SOC of the knee (charge rate ramp down)
Now wondering if the full rate charge on cold batteries is a cause of advanced degradation? That theory all but failed on my S 30 but then again, I charged so much due to limited range, the pack was always at a higher temperature most of the time anyway. The E Plus, I was only charging every 2-4 days so plenty of time to cool off the pack.
I have a golden opportunity of sorts to see if charging habit affect this. Up till now, most of my charging has been cold pack DC. Although its only a 4 to 1 DC/L2 charge session ratio, the actual power involved is probably well over 90% DC but that will end very soon. Then I will be mostly level 2 and with the shutdown, not looking like a lot of road trips will be happening.
FYI; my 2nd adjustment started Saturday so we shall see how far it goes. Remember my first adjustment was larger than anyone else's I have seen.
**EDIT** DC power in is 93% of total power used so far.
