I got that on my phone as a news item. Some of the "vehicles" they saw were apparently clay models. The Cadillac 'Super Wagon' EV sounds interesting.

Good summary here:

The video does have graphics detailing the new "Ultium" battery system, but aside from that it's just a woman talking below stock footage of Mary Berra talking about and showing the Bolt. We get to see the new Cadillac(s) in April, I guess.

One of the moderators of a Bolt FB group put this up recently:
"Everything You Need To Know About Your Chevy Bolt But Were Afraid To Ask"

I've only had a chance to skim it.

I was pissed off awhile back about slow DC FCing my Bolt when it was cold out (OAT at 44 F) and using an Electrify America DC FC that charges only by the minute at https://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=581197#p581197.

While reading another thread, I found that someone quoted this interesting post: https://www.chevybolt.org/threads/fast-charging-experience.31517/#post-475581 about amps and kW vs. battery temp. I wonder how accurate that is. Unfortunately, I had no (and still have no) means of reading battery temp. But, it sounds like it was likely semi-right/close.

interesting. The optimal temp for the Bolt is nearly the same optimal temp for LEAF charging. Only difference is LEAF charges full speed at the beginning but starting temp of batteries appears to control the SOC of the knee (charge rate ramp down)

Now wondering if the full rate charge on cold batteries is a cause of advanced degradation? That theory all but failed on my S 30 but then again, I charged so much due to limited range, the pack was always at a higher temperature most of the time anyway. The E Plus, I was only charging every 2-4 days so plenty of time to cool off the pack.

I have a golden opportunity of sorts to see if charging habit affect this. Up till now, most of my charging has been cold pack DC. Although its only a 4 to 1 DC/L2 charge session ratio, the actual power involved is probably well over 90% DC but that will end very soon. Then I will be mostly level 2 and with the shutdown, not looking like a lot of road trips will be happening.

FYI; my 2nd adjustment started Saturday so we shall see how far it goes. Remember my first adjustment was larger than anyone else's I have seen.

**EDIT** DC power in is 93% of total power used so far.

Chevrolet Bolt EV Sales Jump 36 Percent In Q1 2020
https://gmauthority.com/blog/2020/06/chevrolet-bolt-ev-sales-numbers-figures-results-first-quarter-2020-q1/

The Leaf US numbers there are confirmed by https://usa.nissannews.com/en-US/releases/release-11f3e4512ee877fdb9261f0e8200024f-nissan-group-reports-first-quarter-2020-us-sales. It's interesting that Bolt is so far ahead of Leaf in US sales despite tax credit for Bolt being down to $1875 (https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/taxevb.shtml) that quarter vs. the full $7500 for Nissan.

I wonder what Q2 will look like w/the COVID-19 disaster.

Thank you!

Not sure if it's a good deal, but it's better than the not listed prices at all (or bad prices) that I'd noticed a few weeks ago at other dealers. Too bad I'm not in the market for another EV but it would be tempting...

EV lease deals put Chevy Bolt and Hyundai IONIQ below $200/month

GM partners with Uber to help drivers buy Chevy Bolt EV with deep discounts

Over the weekend, my city hit high temps of over 100 F, as high as ~106 F. We'd been going thru a heat wave lately. At least once, I had thermal management kick in when I plugged (only for that, not to charge as I my SoC was way above target charge level) when I arrived home. Also, left car plugged in so that TMS could run as needed.

In contrast, yesterday, I charged up my Leaf on free L2 and elsewhere for free that night. Leaf was in garage during the daytime. At night, its battery temp was a bit past 90 F. Left car outside at night and battery only cooled to around 76 to 79 F, depending on which sensor it was.

are pretty tremendous prices, even after ignoring the BS $1,000 'discount with trade.'

Wow. The cheapest ones don't have DC FC inlet though.

Cheapest with is $20,395 (including that $1K off for 2016+ trade in). Regardless, prices sound really good, if they're legit.

So many 2+ vehicle households with a place to plug-in at home. How are there not already so many more folks that have a Leaf or Bolt or Ioniq BEV as their second driver vehicle? Doesn't even pass the upfront "but the cost" test any longer.

ioniq BEV for the US is a compliance car. Per https://www.hyundaiusa.com/us/en/vehicles/ioniq-electric, "Sold in select states" which leads to "Available in California, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Vermont."

Live outside those states and want an Ioniq BEV? Have fun with that, esp. when it comes to service...

One problem is that some of the deals may not be well known. Some people just Google for or know about the (crazy high for this day and age) MSRP on Bolts and then see the price of the Model 3... guess which one they go for?

Folks balk at the charging time (for no reason) on level 2. And, many may balk at having to spend an unknown amount of $ to install an L2 EVSE. In some cases, it can be high (http://www.myrav4ev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=8264#p8264 like for me isn't the highest I've heard. Back in 2011, I recall hearing of even $6K.)

Its still change and that is something we only do dragged and kicking when forced...usually.

Not yet.

As of this morning we went from 3 to 4 drivers in the house (Kids 18, 16, and 12).

We ditched the van because 1. It was 13 years old (but great condition physically) so wanted it sold before the next big repair. 2. No one wanted to drive it (like a meandering tank and a sail on the highway). 3. Didnt want to pay for 3 cars, but needed a second car my son could take to college classes (before they called off the remaining in person classes). 4. It rarely was used. 5. Kids fought like hell not to sit in back, so guess what....no back row now. 5. I was stuck with fill ups, and love evs. I will admit to this board, I had hoped the eNiro would have come to the midwest for comparison, but gave up waiting..that and I don't like our Kia dealers service dept. (Van was a Kia Sedona).

This weekend we did our second 5 in the car Skokie to Wisconsin (south west of Milwaukee) trip in a day. About 88 miles and 80-85 minutes each way. We take the S+ so i can run the car north of 70mph without worrying about range. The SV+ does the trip fine, but I can't confidently push 75-80mph in the stretch between Gurnee and south Milwaukee without getting a little conservation minded. We rolled in with 15% dash (so..24ish% LS) and 40 miles on the gom after the 176 miles. Kids sometimes fight a little, but if they have their phones, its pretty quiet for most of the ride. I offer to sit in the back and let the others drive, but am scolded for that suggestion. I do enjoy sitting in the back (I am 6'2" and 210 lbs).

I am working on the wife to try a road trip (either Baltimore or Colorado), maybe post a vaccine.

Looks like the only major changes are that DCFC is standard on the Premier, and if you want DCFC on an LT, you have to select the Comfort and Convenience package.
I can confirm the DC FC standard on Premier part. I haven't carefully looked over the rest. For whatever reason, Bolt is listed under Chevy truck.
