I wouldn't hate universal health care as long as it didn't turn out like the VA.
That's the problem anytime any one says universal health care it makes them think VA with extravagant spending for non care items and other fraud waste and abuse, fake waiting lists for treatment, making it impossible to see a specialist, incompetence, no accountability.

NRA rules. Pull gun, get what you want. Private property doesn't matter, if you have the gun and they don't.

Try that and let us know how it turns out.

What nra rule is that, could you cite a source or at least let us know where you saw it.

You say only 36% own guns. No only 36% are dumb enough to admit they own a gun to some stranger on the phone or to an anonymous Internet poll.
I don't own any guns, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Now you see how it works?

I'm a liberal oddity - I own a gun and am proud of it.

It's a small gun, and only holds 7 rounds at a time, but, strangely, I have enough competency with it to get the the job done. Usually with the first round, although my preference is two to the chest and one to the head.

Why some of y'all see the need to spray hundreds of rounds with an AR or AK to accomplish the same task is beyond me. It's either massive compensation for some kind of inadequacy or some of y'all are lousy shots.

I hear you Mike. I am very liberal and own a few weapons. Bought a 12 Gauge yesterday and do not plan on firing it. I will only fire it if I have to.
I understand the need for the M1A and the AR for the likes of armed forces, but what a waste of resources blowing up $40 worth of ammo in a few seconds. I guess I am too cheap.

I prefer a box cutter.

No one even cared about AR15s prior to about 1994. There were only 2 manufacturers and a base model was about $1,400 (when adjusted for inflation to 2020 dollars).

The US military had been using that platform since the late 1960s no one in the military to include my self had anything good to say about them so they never caught on, until the government tried to ban them.
So all the gun banners can pat them selves and each other on the back side for making it the most popular rifle in the United States. Good job. I can only thank you for cutting the price of a $1,400 gun more than in half.

'What are we doing this for?': Doctors are fed up with conspiracies ravaging ERs
"I left work and I felt so deflated," one doctor said about an effort to counter misinformation he saw on Facebook. "I let it get to me."

Since the South Korean government never enforced a full lockdown, voluntary compliance has been key, Kim said. The government has encouraged employers to let nonessential personnel work from home, Kim said, and distributes free equipment like masks to every household that requests it. Government messaging has been clear, consistent and mostly communicated by health officials rather than politicians, he said, which was key to mobilizing the public.

“Koreans have lived under the threat of war since the Korean War and this is like a war,” Kim said. “We’re going to do what we need to do to get through it. This is just part of living here, so people got used to it. The government pulled people together.”

Watching Americans protest social distancing requirements outside state capitals across the U.S., Kim said he wasn’t confident U.S. citizens could be as disciplined as South Korea. Mixed messaging from the White House and state leaders about economic reopening has not helped the public, he said.

The Republicans have spread hate and fear of the Federal government.

Now the Republicans are following the appearance of normality projected by Trump. And ending successful social distancing.

Also new data out of new York is saying 60% of the people being hospitalized for this communist plegue are getting the virus while staying home, 90% claim they haven't been going out, haven't been using public transportation, ect. Go lock down...
I would say new york is doing a pretty good job proving its not really working.
I can't speak to your numbers, but I caught a piece last night (can try to find a video tonight) where a New York-area doctor was on a panel discussing this. From my semi-foggy memory, basically, the infected person themselves didn't go out but there were many others in the household who were going in and out along w/others not from the household (e.g. caregivers and maybe service workers). She cited multi-generational households (e.g. grandparents, parents and grand kids) all in one house.

If there were no lockdown, things would've been MUCH worse in NY. Look what happened when it was left to spread unabated (pre-lockdown).

Is it still satire if it writes itself?

The vaporware response.

There’s a term in Silicon Valley for software that’s advertised before anyone can guarantee it will even exist. It’s called “vaporware.” Much of the federal government’s response to the crisis has been vaporware.

It plays like a campaign ad. It would be more effective if Trump were mentioned no more than once.
It makes the Orange One livid. As did the infection of his valet. Even though everyone around Trump gets a daily test, Trump doesn't feel safe.

The virus thinks he looks tasty.

And the TDS lives ON & ON.

I love it that he is going to be Living Rent Free in your head for another 5 YEARS.

Trump Delusion Syndrome or TDS can often be cured by turning off Fox News.

What has a large space in my mind is the future of the American Republic.
Trump has a 7x9 cell. Vertical blinds.

Never mind for me personally as a liberal, I hope for the sake of the country that you are wrong.

I can only imagine how much more damage he'll be able to do if, by some perverse twist of fate, he manages to cheat and lie his was to another term.
