He had 45 to 50 on the GOM before and for $2827 they got him up to 85 on the GOM

Most understand about relying on GOM numbers for comparisons, right?

I don’t know or care. I’m here to provide a list of installers. If you want you can teach people.

Thanks.

From another LEAF owner.

Ace Hybrid Battery in Stanton just replaced my LEAF battery $4500. New = 72 miles. Today with 2nd gen battery = 101 miles (eco). Told me 3-5 days. Actual time: less than 24 hours. I waited for Bysinger since 2018, asked for my $150 deposit back...

In Florida:

Just received this from someone who wants to remain anonymous. This is in Florida. You’ll have to call to see if it’s legit.

They said it’s a sale that expires on 6/15

New 24kWh installed with full warranty for $4646.76.

Not sure if this is real. They claim they have a written quote.

It appears to be a 9 bar battery -- "85 on the GOM" is a totally misleading statement, much like the misleading statements at "leaf380.com" (where you advertise for Fenix in exchange for referral awards).

Perhaps they went from a 5 bar to a 9 bar battery, and maybe for $2827 that is a good deal. You should stay away from the hyperbole and misleading statements and stick to the facts.

Nine capacity bars showing. As noted the GOM isn't generally useful, although if he always drives the same route at the same speed it has some value. Nine bars showing, of course, means it could be eight bars plus just a little... Good price if they only need 8 bars.

The installer and the customer claims it’s 12/12 Bars or at the very least 11/12. They claim LEAFSpy showed almost all original GIDS.

They claim that the leaf computer knows his last battery was at 9 and they did not have the correct tools to reset it to 12/12.

EVsEnhanced, Muxsan and Jesus Toucedo all claim they have tools to reset the GOM so that the correct bars will be displayed.

Sorry if this is nitpicking, but why do you feel the need to post an image that shows the same text as your post?

Please don't take it personally. I've just noticed this trend, especially with news outlets where I'm reading everything twice, once quoted in the story and then again with a screen capture of the tweet in question. I don't get it but that's ok :)

I will probably stop posting pics because there's a huge bug on this forum, Every year my account switches to a regular user in May for 10 days and then all my pictures disappear on all my previous posts. So, why post pics if they will only show for 354 days.

The first post in this thread had two pictures and then I turned in a regular user and they turned into just text of the images.

All my old posts about my step by step Spare tire installation and 1000 Watt stereo don't show photos any longer.

This is a big problem, I guess there is no reason to be a gold member.

I noticed the same thing...and came to the same conclusion you seem to be contemplating (I used to be a Gold member).

I remain committed to help support the forum by remaining a gold member, but it expires for a few days every year even though I have automatic renewal. I have not checked old posts to see if photos are still there because I rarely attach photos.

One of the Admins fixed the issue. It turned out it was some cache problem with the server. So now it’s fixed. I’ve been a Gold member for 7 years.

But, I may have to request a refund. Jlv is really making my time here uncomfortable and I don’t need that angst in my life. If he doesn’t relent I’ll have to leave for good and ask that all my post be deleted.

I’ll keep my LEAF stuff elsewhere.

Here’s a 2011 that’s been upgraded to a homemade 64kWh pack by Jesus Toucedo in Spain.

https://youtu.be/4UUvuG-zdiQ

that pack looks like it would immediately explode in an accident.

- there will be huge shear forces on the vertical bolts and stacked cells during braking and turning
- cell clamping force is insanely uneven. >1cm increase in stack height from bolts at edge to center. 100% chance that at least one of these cells shorts out or puffs in the next two years.
- no gaps or anything between cells to account for cell expansion, debris, trapped air...
- what happens when one of these cells catches fire? they included no fire retardants and did not add vents or anything.
- horizontal support bar has been removed. the case will likely warp across the center and might fail. could they not afford a single hour of a mechanical engineer's time?
- FDM busbar holders? are they serious? at least it's better than plywood
- drill press through cell terminals: don't even need to say why this process is awful besides being nonscalable
- working on a live pack without any PPE
- metal tools left sitting on top of bare pouch cells during assembly. what other foreign object debris will be in this pack?
- no cooling whatsoever, no clear picture what chemistry is being used here. how is one of the cells in that rear stack supposed to cool off when it has 25 cells on all other sides?

i hope this buyer has fire insurance and sure hope they paid less than $5k.

edit: whoops, they're charging $14,000 euros. :|

This is from an email I received last night:

#FenixPowerCo is ready to install your batteries.

New Fenix partners help launch subscriptions!

And this is my understanding on the costs:

This is for CPO packs. Not the Thermally managed Fenix packs they've been talking about for 18 months.

Fenix costs

There are 3 costs:

Installation:

Battery Cost:

Warranty:

Installation has always been from day 1 $1500 and they had a discount on that if you pre-ordered. I told people over and over to pre-order early to get the lowest installation price. They claim they have 700 pre-orders. Most of those people paid between $103 to $150 towards their install cost. (The people with the $103 used my discount codes) Depending when you paid, the earliest people got the best deal.

I paid $150 in 2018 and that's all I will pay for installation. Some people waited till the install cost was $300, or $600 or $750. And unfortunately some people did not listen to me and pre-order and those people will pay $1500 to install.
The people who pre-ordered when the install deal was $300 will owe $150 on the day they get their
battery installed.

The people who pre-ordered when the cost was $750 still owe $600 for installation.

And the people who did not pre-order will pay $1500 for installation.

BATTERY COST:
$2499 in Cash or $150 a month for 24 months.

WARRANTY:
$14.99 a month if you want it.
