5 studies, including 2 clinical trials have demonstrated significant major outpatient treatment efficacy for hydroxychloroquine...

https://academic.oup.com/aje/advance-article-pdf/doi/10.1093/aje/kwaa093/33312601/kwaa093.pdf

So who still thinks it's a bad idea?
But by all means be angry and stick to your politically motivated treatment regime when you catch trump virus.

I bet all those hydroxychloroquine naysayers feel stupid. In your face, you were absolutely dead wrong and this proves it. :p

I think I'm going to round up the quote and add them to this post. Let's see if you can delete them before I find them.

Here's the first one.

We were unable to confirm a benefit of hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine, when used alone or with a macrolide, on in-hospital outcomes for COVID-19. Each of these drug regimens was associated with decreased in-hospital survival and an increased frequency of ventricular arrhythmias when used for treatment of COVID-19.

Got that red stuff off your hands yet? Yet another way Trump and his followers have killed people.

Try repentance and prayer.

I don't know.

Trump loses, he tries to bury the past. Trump wins, he weaponizes.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/03/opinion/coronavirus-fake-news.html

Masks aren’t the only object of contention. Take the controversy around the anti-malarial drug chloroquine. In late March, the Food and Drug Administration authorized the use of chloroquine and a related drug, hydroxychloroquine, for emergency use for hospitalized patients. But chloroquine is not an approved treatment for the coronavirus, and its side effects include potentially fatal complications.

Without solid evidence of chloroquine’s efficacy, it is irresponsible to promote anecdotes about its curing the virus, as Silicon Valley elites and even President Trump have done. President Jair Bolsonaro of Brazil is also a big chloroquine proponent; last month Facebook took down a video of him making unproven claims about the drug.

But it’s also still well within the realm of possibility that rigorous clinical trials could show the drug does work, and months from now it could be approved in some form for use with Covid-19 patients. Should that happen, the Trump administration and the drug’s other champions could easily weaponize the current criticisms and social media takedowns as dangerous, partisan censorship.
He's going to be pissed.

Trump is killing his followers another way. By promoting a drug that does nothing.

"Kim said she had believed she would not contract the virus because Trump touted the drug as effective, even though most medical experts urged caution."

I really fear for our nation, and not because of the virus or even Trump. He'll be gone one day. It's people like "Kim" that worry me most.

that quote from Kim is not really an actual quote. It is the author saying it. The things he actually has here quoted as saying are the opposite. I think some of this may be the journalist trying to be a sensationalist. I'm really saddened that I now distrust all media and look so closely at everything because the media on both sides is always trying to sensationalize things. It may be true that she said that, but then why not actually quote what she said? I think it is because it does not sell magazines or generate clicks to give an honest account of her story. Seems to me she came forward to show that HCQ does not provide immunity, and they are making her out to be some dummy who believed she was immune to it by taking the drug, like the POTUS.
I love it when people jump on the bandwagon just to later be proven so utterly wrong.

Jerks. Yes.

It boggles the mind how bad the red/blue divide has gotten in this country, with those on the red side wiling to put themselves and others in danger to "own the libs". And let's be honest - that's really all most of this is.

Blue:

Stay home.
Wear a mask if you can't.
Follow the advice of scientists.

Red:

I wanna haircut/drink/go to the beach!
I ain't wearin' no mask!
Bleach cocktail with a side of fish tank cleaner? Yes, please!
Not with fish tank hydroxychloroquine.

I totally agree. I quoted you because I thought you might find this interesting.

Just had to post that I was still gloating.
I feel bad for anyone who hasn't blocked me and gets to see that.
It's almost my bed time I'm just going to set this here metaphoric lit road flare in this dumpster of a post just to watch it burn.

The Placebo Effect is real, and can result in actual better outcomes - especially when the participants don't know it's a placebo. I have no doubt that believing that taking the above drug makes some people better able to fight off the COVID virus. That doesn't, however, make the drug itself an effective treatment. Vitamin C would be a better candidate, as it will do some good even if it doesn't combat the virus, and no harm.

I posted this today at another site:

Today I requested that my Lowes.com account be canceled. We have
used it for years, but after having them refuse to add a package of
paper towels to an $80 fencing order to be picked up outdoors (while
giving a lame excuse that they couldn't tell if it was in stock or
not, despite their site indicating that it was, but could only be
purchased "in-store") today, I canceled the order, told them exactly
why, and told them we'd now be shopping for building supplies
elsewhere. I don't know why everyone is giving businesses a pass on
not selling even limited quantities of paper towels and toilet paper
outside of the store interior, but it has to stop. They are forcing
people to literally risk their lives to buy toilet paper, just so
their sales will be a little higher.

What would biden do?
Let's see him and Obama let the swine flu run loose for months, waited for 1,000 people to die before declining a state of emergency and putting in travel restrictions in place which by then was definitely too late.
I could sum up the obama biden swine flu response as "too little, too late".

When will people EVER understand that addressing "current" situations and failings can NOT happen when referring to some past action by someone else??

You say Obama "waited" until 1,000 people died before doing anything. I say you cherry picked an event as a basis for your statement. Here is my cherry; trump's delay likely caused AT LEAST an additional 35,000 deaths. Score; trump 35,000....Obama (arguably) 1,000

You might want to consider the parallels of any comparison between Obama (who was a BRILLIANT man) who relied HEAVILY on his advisors against trump who is also smart but too inwards looking to understand, absorb or accept any outside information including his revolving door of advisors who are fired if they don't listen TO HIM. Now we can all think that "normally" the listening is the other way around but then again, this would be the ONLY normal thing about the trump regime and IT AINT HAPPENING.

BUT...

In well over a year, the death toll from Swine was 12,000 thousand and change ranking it not even in the top 20 for cause of death. Today, we see 12,000 people A WEEK dying from COVID 19. Compare those numbers

Finally; I mentioned the extra 35,000 deaths trump's delay cost but it was early, information was available, the advisors were doing a great job of giving their dire predictions but trump (who already knew everything) slow stepped it thinking it was a "phase"... a "bump in the road" that it "will pass"

Well that didn't happen and eventually his advisors brought his mind to the shocking conclusion that he didn't know everyt... Oh wait! No, that isn't what happened. What happened is too many people started dying. ONLY when trump realized it wasn't going away on its own did he decide he should do something so my take? That 35,000 estimate is way too low but I am will to wipe both Obama's 1,000 and trump's 35,000 slate clean

BECAUSE; trump's CURRENT actions of ridiculing the CDC, doctors against him, people choosing to wear masks, etc. will cause the current death toll to double by the end of the year so it won't be 200,000 on New Year's Eve, because trump's actions will cause an ADDITIONAL 100,000 deaths so make it a quarter million dead.

I will revisit this post in 6 months. Until then; WEAR YOU EFFING MASK!

Probably is wearing a mask.

Truth, brother.

Trump has been "President" for himself first. For his Republican donors next. The 1% after that. Then his deplorables. He has never, EVER tried to be a President to all Americans.

Not that I would accept such anyhow - this ass-clown has never been (nor will never be, even after he's long gone) MY President.

Just don't waste too much time on what other people are doing and worry about your self or your clan.
I'm just staying plan on getting the virus, that is all.
For me I'm going to relax and watch everyone who crammed them selves into the big cities freak out over this.

"Everybody do whatever they like" is a fine Ayn Rand response and I might have agreed with it 30 years ago. I've done enough living since then to see the suffering imposed by that mindless philosophy. People suffering and dying aren't just statistics. Even if you believe that the magical "invisible hand" optimizes the average outcome, the ends still don't justify the means. If "you do you" initiates a chain of infection that ultimately kills thousands, maybe it should change to "you do right".

It doesn't just badly hit "big cities". I'd watched a CBSN on COVID-19 in the Navajo Nation.

https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2020/05/13/855419230/navajo-nation-president-says-covid-19-has-killed-103 says
"But one rural area has more COVID-19 cases per capita than nearly any other place in the United States: the Navajo Nation. "

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Navajo_Nation is to be believed, it says their population density is 2.4/km^2 whereas my county is at 530/km^2 and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_City#Boroughs claims NYC is at over 10K per km^2.

Probably due to delayed reporting but they added over 100 deaths in one day, now at 167.

^^^
Did you mean 100 new cases? They were at 103 deaths at May 13 (NPR piece) and you say 167 now.

https://kutv.com/news/coronavirus/navajo-nation-reports-102-new-covid-19-cases-1-more-death mentions 102 new cases.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/coronavirus-navajo-nation-running-water-cbsn-originals/ looks like the CBSN piece I saw. I had watched it on my Roku 3 w/the CBS or CBS News app.

OT: South Korea has reported some recent spikes in new cases:
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-52845015 - "79 new cases were recorded, the highest daily figure in two months."
https://abcnews.go.com/Health/wireStory/latest-india-sees-record-jump-covid-19-cases-70920078 - 58 new cases

Hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine with or without a macrolide for treatment of COVID-19: a multinational registry analysis. This was from a real study from The Lancet. There are many more real studies like this.

Buuuurrrp.
So no rational response to anything relevant?

I agree, that's completely reasonable as I believe the placebo trials have not been conducted at this point.

Refusing to sell something that's in stock for curbside pickup is at the least very lazy on their part.
They offer this service the bolster sales, but then refuse it because it's not convenient for them?
