Glad this is moving forward. I just worry Nissan is going to lose another differentiation point with Tesla making more noise in the V2G space in the US. They need more relationships and need to move much faster.

In time V2G may have some impact outside of the USA.

Tesla talk of a China designed and built $20K Telsa for world export could be a risk to Nissan's success in China especially if built using Cybertruck technology.

$45K would be $38 after you factor fed rebate...that I looks cheap compared to the Y.
I would agree if the Nissan came with a real battery like Tesla ships with. Sadly it seems most Nissan dealerships have profiled the Leaf as a loser and it became a reality.

One can build and sell fine vehicles or internally fight turf wars but one can not do both at the same time is self evident.

I am hoping the Ayria is going to ship with the Renault version battery.

Unclear what the Federal tax credit status will be by the time Ariya comes out. Will it still be the full $7500 or will Nissan have hit phaseout period and be down to $3750 or lower? I don't have an accurate count of where Nissan is in its count towards 200K units in the US but if Ariya ships by end of 2021, I don't think Nissan will be at $1875 yet.

I wish success upon the Ariya, but I still plan to lease an ePlus SV when my lease ends next yer - or slightly sooner if there is a financial advantage to doing so. We don't need that much car, or that much price.

It looks like I was close in predicting that the Ariya would have a smaller battery and FWD as an option, creating an overlap with the Leaf. I wonder if the 40kwh pack will remain for the next gen Leaf S, or if the new 63kwh pack will be the smallest battery after this Generation Leaf retires.

Is the Ariya battery temp air or coolant managed?

Someone said liquid cooled. I don't have a link to prove that.

https://youtu.be/Fbo4-2tH3qk?t=1799 (Nissan's official video) at 29:59 mentions water cooled.

They trimmed the reveal and the old time indexes like I posted at https://www.chevybolt.org/threads/2020- ... ost-549455 are no longer valid. Since I didn't watch it live, I don't know if they edited in/out anything else other than the portions before the actual reveal began.

Well, unless they just water-cooled the battery temperature sensor, anyway. ;) Thanks for the link to the actual moment they mention the battery - I hate watching these kinds of videos!
