I can see if it logged into FB. If in incognito/private mode, I can't. It's likely cuz that group is a "private" group of which I'm a member.

I Can't see it. And it's one of those FB links that "traps" you - you can't go back from it, only close your browser. This is part of why I don't do Facebook.

The jump from the monthly summer average appears to be mostly related to the ID.3 rollout. It would be nice if the 10k/month is sustained but it does not seem likely.

Norway is ~ 1/60 the population of the USA so if the USA was as progressive as Norway there would have been ~ 600k EV sales here in September.

Will be intersting to see how sustained id3 sales are in Norway. It looks like VW did a good job in rollout in Europe. Tesla 3 sales are very consistent to previous quarter, validating theory that this is net new demand and not cannibalizing existing demand.

US: Nissan LEAF Dropped To A New Low In Q3 Sales

During the third quarter of 2020, Nissan sold only 1,916 LEAFs in the U.S., which is not only 38.3% less than a year ago, but the lowest result in a third-quarter since the introduction.

The only small positive is that LEAF managed to achieve 2.7% out of the total Nissan volume, which is not bad considering its expected upcoming retirement.

It's hard to blame the LEAF, as in general Nissan is struggling these days with 71,092 passenger car sales (down 36% year-over-year) and 203,783 total vehicle sales (down 32.6% year-over-year).

So far this year, Nissan LEAF sales have decreased by 46% year-over-year to 4,923.

As a life long Nissan guy these numbers you posted really hurt me realizing world wide last quarter 139,000 EV's were directly to delivered to Tesla online buyers. Perhaps had Nissan developed an EV battery that could have taken the heat in 2015 things would have been better for them in the EV world. As Nissan as a whole has been treading water for the last 20 years they have been lapped many times by new players out of Asia.

Henry Ford invented the vertical car manufacturing model a 100 years ago by owning iron ore, coal mines, forests, etc but for cash flow reasons he farmed out the reselling of his cars to third parties not under his full control. Without the internet there would be no Tesla today. My how paradigm shifts can change the game for a long time. The funny thing one day Tesla will be in the same boat as the buggy and whip makers were 100 years ago I expect. In the mean time the coming $25,000 Tesla make take out the none vertically integrated car companies.

That said, part of the reason for me ruling out the Model 3 when I was in the considering a Bolt and a 3 (MR, being the cheapest back then) in Jan 2019 was there was no way to get a 3 WITHOUT the glass roof (not that it'd fly off but concerned about stress cracks + another piece of very expensive glass that could get broken by road debris, things falling from trees, etc.). Originally, it was part of the $5K premium upgrade package but eventually, Tesla never offered a 3 config w/o glass roof even though they originally planned to. It wasn't the only reason but was a contributing factor.

385 Leafs sold in Germany last month. That might have been more than in the US.
