I have been looking for a LEAF for a while now, but I did not have the funds available to get one. I drove one for half a day in 2018 and loved it.

I realize the 2011 LEAFs are suffering from terrible battery wear, but my search has continued.

The average price in California for a worn out leaf is about 4000 with a 50 mile range and 7 bars left.

I found one for $3000 in this same condition and it is time to pull the trigger. I realize that it is below acceptable, but this is my budget and I refuse to make payments. I'll be paying cash.

Am I right or wrong? Discuss.

Can you update your location info via your user name in the upper right > User Control Panel > Profile tab? That way, we don't need to ask in future posts/threads or do sleuthing to deduce it.

What are your daily driving needs in terms of miles? How much city vs. highway? Will you have the ability to charge at your home/work/destinations?

How long do you plan to keep it? You've seen the table at https://web.archive.org/web/20140505024023/http://www.electricvehiclewiki.com/Battery#Battery_Capacity_Behavior, right?

i'm driving a 7 bar 2012 and it does fine for a solid 40 miles, might get 50 with careful driving and a Full charge. If you can get by with that sort of range then it sounds like a great price.

If the OP lives someplace with cold Winters, then the lack of seat and steering wheel heaters will be felt. If it's really Cold in Winter, then the probable lack of a battery warmer may be felt.
