Does anyone know if the Leaf has the same headlights as another Nissan vehicle?

(I ask as I'm trying to research the quality of the Leaf's headlights, but IIHS.org doesn't have that data on the Leaf. IIHS.org, however, has headlight data on a number of other Nissan vehicles.)

Alternatively, is there any data on the Leaf's headlights out there? (E.g. - Average minimum useful illumination distance)

Would help to indicate the model year and trim level(s). For gen 1 and 2, some trims have halogen headlight (lousy on gen 1) and some have LEDs. And, on some, the LED headlights are part of a package.

'11 and '12 had LED headlights regardless but on '13 S and SV got crap halogens. '13 SV had LEDs w/the LED headlights + quick charge package. '13 SL had the equivalent on that package standard.

I can personally say the LED headlights on '13 SV w/package were great. The halogens on '13 SV w/o it suck. I had both.

Looking at a Gen 2 SL or SV – so would definitely have LEDs.
Nope on the SV. Look at specs tab of https://usa.nissannews.com/en-US/releases/release-77b5f147884a4439bd10c4d9207f2237-us-2018-nissan-leaf-press-kit. It's not standard on '18 SV.

With the Gen II Leaf, until just this year, IIRC, you also have to get the All Weather Package (or the SL trim) if you want heated front seats and steering wheel, and even the heat pump. With the S trim of the same era, you have to get that package to get heated front seats and steering wheel, and a rear seat HVAC duct.

Personally very satisfied with the LED system in my '19 SL. I do a lot of night driving and my eyesight isn't getting any better with age. They are one of the most effective system I've owned.

Agree. Although the fog/driving lights don't add much, and are not LED as far as I can tell.

Edit: Actually, the LED tracking headlights that looked around corners on my 2014 Tiguan were better. They really did help, but don't get in a fender bender with them!

List seems suspect. I bought an 02 Maxima new. I had the GXE trim which was the lowest trim and it came standard with HIDs at least for the low beams. There were almost no options on the GXE trim (headlights for sure weren't one of them). I'm pretty sure the SE and highest GLE trims wouldn't have regressed to halogens.

The HIDs on that car were also quite good.

Even if the bulb is used on other Nissan models, it doesn't mean the reflector design is the same and has equivalent performance.

The above list I provided only addresses the headlight bulb. I didn't look into the headlight assembly.
I figured the OP may find that data useful.

My 2018 headlights are good, I do wish the fog lights stayed on with high beams, and wish the fog lights were matching LED.

I would say my Outback's LEDs headlights are slightly better. But the Leaf is pretty good.

I went to check IIHS, since they officially rate headlights, but they never did the Leaf.
