New ChargePoint CCS/ ChadeMo in Waitsfield VT, one or the other but not both at the same time. 33KW. Also, first of this experience: a Tesla was there with an adaptor trying to get the CCS with adaptor to charge the Tesla- they had a ChargePoint card but had forgotten that the car also needs to be reminded to charge........ They graciously went shopping and let me charge (I was at 3%) while I got enough to get home. It would have been interesting to see their rate, I did not stick around.....

TIL of https://www.plugshare.com/location/336865. https://eazystop.com/current_locations says "EV charging CCS/CHAdeMO/TESLA adapter provided".

In some of the Plugshare pics, you can see a CHAdeMO to Tesla adapter there.

Learned of https://www.plugshare.com/location/465058 which is apparently a new network (ChargeNet). Supposedly has 6 CHAdeMO and 6 CCS Plugs (via 6 stations).

I stumbled across https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYEkzigFvng on the above site in South SF, CA last night. At about 4:36 into it, they show that there's 1 CHAdeMO to Tesla adapter at the site.

I've not seen this model of 75 kW Tritium DC FC anywhere in Plugshare or person before.

When I Googled for ChargeNet, I found https://www.electrive.com/2022/10/20/chargenet-opens-fast-charging-stations-at-taco-bell/.

So tried the new evgo DC charger in our area.

The session kicked out after a few minutes and at the same time I was being solicited by a random stranger for my phone so took off, but will try again in daylight hours with a lower SoC.

The Signet 500amp/920V 350KW charger gave me a constant 71KW from 31 to 39% SoC when the session died. Battery started at 73-75F, ebded at 76-79F. I am curious if with these newer units if the 70+ charging rate can be held any longer than the early days of EA before they throttled their Chademo.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFjifcYmXRs has yet another provider: EV Range.

https://www.plugshare.com/location/362961

There are 2 CCS1 plugs and 2 CHAdeMO plugs.

It depends on if the QC station is over-heating, can't output the claimed power or just has a weird charging algorithm. Just for a recent comparison from this topic https://mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?t=33644 The first graph is a Nissan QC (on a cold day) tops out at nearly 80 kW and then has a long, steady curve of decreasing power. That was a successful charge session all the way to 90% SoC.

The second graph is the same Nissan QC (on a warm day) that was overheating and finally had a failed session like you saw. As you can see, it started out strong and then had sudden drops where as it was over-heating, it just continued dropping the charging power until it finally failed. The QC station, not the Leaf. ;)

Ok, tried again today. This is at EVGO charger IDA.

Charged for 9:42 (per evgo) and charged 11.084kWh.

This moved the car from 29.5 to 50.5 %SoC and dash from 21% to 44%

Power held at 71kW until 40.5 %SoC then drifted to 67kW for a few minutes before I stopped touching 65kW.

If forgot how much faster the car heats at 70+kW than at 45kW. In the 9-10 minutes my top temp reading jumped from 75-76F to 89F. Ambient was 57F, not that it really matters.

This evgo has 2x 350s and 2x dual charge capable 200kW chargers. It's too bad they don't put them across more spots as both dual chargers service the same 2 parking spots.

While looking for something else, I stumbled across https://www.plugshare.com/location/238914 in So Cal. I fixed a unit error in the Plugshare listing (someone didn't know the difference between kW and kWh). I confirmed via the Shell Recharge app that DC FCing is apparently 20 cents per kWh. That's really cheap for California. Besides any free ones, this is probably the 2nd cheapest CCS or CHAdeMO DC FC site I know of in CA.

The above is in Monterey Park. Too bad I doubt I will be in that area in my upcoming road trip to So Cal.

Spotted these new 200 kW DCFC units on Sunday at a Circle K store in Fort MacLeod AB. Just read an article that mentions that Circle Ks in Norway often have fast charging.

It appears that some convenience store companies have finally figured out that DCFC users have more time to buy things at the store than gas station customers, so fast charge stations are a good way to attract customers.
