It's been a sweet minute or two...

But apparently the RAN is finally opening!
One site in CO is open and two in CA will open this week, including the Inyokern site near me. Sadly it looks like the fast chargers are still Rivian only.

Along with 4 L2's for us. FYI; you "should" know the exclusivity is fleeting.

A Rivian charge station opened in Montrose CO (near Target) in December. Six DCFC stalls and two 11 kW Level 2 stalls.

The Level 2 stalls are free for anyone to use. I presume that the DCFC stalls are limited to Rivian vehicles because the only DCFC check-ins on Plugshare are from Rivians: R1T and R1S.

^ Level 2 stall.

^ Charging at a Level 2 stall. I was pulling 40 amps at 241 volts — 9.6 kW — which is all my old car (2014, 148k miles) can do on Level 2, but other EV drivers have reported getting the full 11 kW. This is the fastest free public L2 charge station in this area and it is walking distance from Target, Walmart and many other stores, so good for shopping.
