My 2015 Leaf SV (without quick charge) stopped charging. I had just enough charge to get it to the dealership. Long story short, the Power Delivery Module is bad. It has 110,000 miles, the battery is at about 75%, and it's all out of warranty. I got a part number from Nissan (292C0-3NF6D). I'm hoping to get a salvage part on ebay. The dealer wanted $4685 to fix it.

When I go to the Nissan parts website and enter my VIN, it lists several parts that look identical. They range from $1500 to $3500 (of course the one I need is the $3500). https://parts.nissanusa.com/productSearch.aspx?ukey_make=5802&modelYear=2015&ukey_model=90211&ukey_trimLevel=156659&ukey_driveline=73561&ukey_Category=84423&numResults=50&sortOrder=Relevance&ukey_tag=0&isOnSale=0&isAccessory=0&isPerformance=0&searchTerm=junction%20block

The part number I got off my Leaf is 292C0-3NF2D.
The part is the Junction Block.

From what I can tell they are listed for different trim levels, and one is for the Quick Charge Port (which is the cheapest for some reason).

Also, my google skills have failed me. I haven't been able to find anyone who has done this and has a good video or pictures of how this is done.
Anyone know if these parts are interchangeable? Nissan hasn't been much help. Can I just add the quick charge port and use that part? It's half the price.

I can't help much but I think a 2015 SV with quick charge also has a 6.6kW charger while one without will have a 3.3kW charger. As such, I'd be very careful switching part numbers unless you can find someone who has already done this.

Nope. You're talking about S trims.

ALL '13 to '17 SV and SL have 6.6 kW OBC.

I had a '13 SV w/both packages (premium and quick charge + LED headlights) followed by a '13 SV w/premium (no QC). Both had 6.6 kW OBC. I could see the power levels when charging on ChargePoint L2 EVSEs at work.

You can also confirm my statement via https://usa.nissannews.com/en-US/releases/release-513847a8aeeb48d480a52a8fbdcdbd93-us-2015-nissan-leaf-press-kit and https://usa.nissannews.com/en-US/releases/release-698a9e429ae04602b683514427ca41ba-us-2013-nissan-leaf-press-kit specs tab

I'm finding plenty of parts on Ebay for 6.6kW with QC, but not 6.6KW w/o QC. I wonder if I can use that part and just not connect a QC?

Right you are. Thanks for the correction. I always seem to mess up something when talking about the various years and trim levels. Even though I've downloaded the brochures for every year, unfortunately I usually post from memory...

Or go the whole 9 yards and install QC. It isn't easy, but it has been done.

I am seeing a 292C0-4NP2C available, and nissan says it fits... https://parts.nissanusa.com/p/Nissan_2015_Leaf-HATCHBACK-SV/Junction-Block/89590202/292C0-4NP2C.html

It seems to straddle the 2015/2016/2017.

Again, the dealer says I need the 292C0-3NF6D.

According to this post (https://mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?t=21106&start=14), and I'm not sure of it's validity, something must have changed in 2015. It seems like these are all compatible from 2013-2015, then there's a 2015-2017 model. I'm not sure what one I need. They sure LOOK the same.

292C0-3NF6D and 292C0-4NP2C are both 6.6kW w/o QC.

Anyone know if this actually fits?

I finally got the leaf spy codes on this:

B29C1 2308 CHARGER EVSE VC-98

P3171 0008 EV/HEV PD Module System EVC-241
P3170 0008 EV/HEV PD Module System EVC-241
P316C 0008 EV/HEV PD Module System EVC-238

I ended up getting the 292C0-4NP2C for the 2016 leaf, and it worked! Fully charged the car. For anyone looking to do this, I know there are plenty of good posts on this site, but let me add these 3 links that were super helpful:

First! Make sure you remove the high voltage disconnect:
https://youtu.be/UcGoSO_uRXs

This is a YouTube video of a whole motor/inverter/pdm assembly being disassembled. It's helpful to find all those connections that are hard to see behind the PDM.
https://youtu.be/4GG3QRPGlPc

This is a repair manual and shows how to disassemble and reassemble the PDM.

I am trying to collect information on Leaf owners that have experienced failed PDMs as I feel there is a fairly large number of failures occurring and Nissan is not being very forthcoming with information. This would probably be due the financial ramifications should a Class Action lawsuit or wide scale recall be issued.

These PDMs are VERY expensive to repair and I am now on my 3rd in less than 90 days on my 2016. I believe the 3rd PDM failed today. The 1st 2 failures happened while plugged into CHAdeMO fast chargers while the 3rd failed while plugged into my L1 charger in my driveway.

Nissan covered 40% of the 1st failure even though the car was out of warranty (this makes me suspicious) , the 2nd was covered under warranty from the 1st failure. I'm pretty sure the 3rd will also be covered by Nissan. The 1st failure cost me well over $4000 (after Nissan's contribution) I'm so glad I didn't go the salvage or aftermarket route to fix the 1st failure.

A simple Google search is turning up a fair number of hoor stories of these PDM failures. I think it's time to act.

There are at least a few separate threads on Reddit that describe very similar stories to mine. (See https://www.reddit.com/r/nissanleaf...rify_america_destroyed_my_power_distribution/ and https://www.reddit.com/r/leaf/comments/p7db71/2019_leaf_recall_power_delivery_module_replacement/)

I have a 2015 6.6 w/QC and trying to figure why it died back in Nov. 2022 when it was working great. I'm refusing to buy another and trying to figure out which components inside the OBC have failed. I'm looking for advice in troubleshooting this:

and better yet with a lot more info:

Mine just died in my 2016 and they don't want to cover it so its gonna run close to 5k. First time it's died. I'm gathering info as well as I think there's something fishy going on. I plan on posting to socials and YouTube about the experience. Need to bring awareness!

Failed PDM in a 2016 Nissan Leaf with 42,418 miles. I found a used PDM, PN: 292C04NP3C, on eBay and was able to replace it myself. It took me a couple of days, about 3 hours per day to do the swap. It would go much more quickly now that I am familiar with the process. I paid $560 for the PDM, which included the freight and insurance. No error codes or dash trouble lights, and the car is charging without issues again.
