Party on PEI

Sat Sep 14, 2013 12:03 pm

September 20-22 – Prince Edward Island is hosting the conclusion of the E-mazing race – a rally/tour of EVs right across Canada. The trek started on the West Coast and will finish in Summerside, PEI.

The weekend of September 20-22 will see events celebrating the occasion. There will be a reception on Friday afternoon (open to all), to greet the participants. Saturday morning will include quarter mile time trials and opportunities to drive drag races. Sunday there will be an opportunity to golf with other EV owners – of course – it's PEI, after all, a little Island with over two dozen primo courses. During the weekend there also will be opportunities to tour portions of this beautiful, world famous tourism destination. Because PEI has Sun Country charging stations situated all over the Island, getting “juice” is not an issue.

You can download the schedule of events for the weekend here:

Now, one of the best parts – there will be lasting recognition of your participation!

In addition to prizes associated with the E-mazing race, Sun Country Highway has just announced the following incentive:

If you are an EV owner from outside of PEI who attends the e-mazing race finale weekend with your EV, Sun Country Highway will sponsor a charger in your name in your country (U.S. or Canada). Every person who charges at “your” station will see the contribution that you have made to greening the nation's highways!

EV drivers must register online at e-mazingrace.com prior to arriving, and must arrive by Thursday, September 19 in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada. An email to vicky@suncountryhighway is also required on arrival on the Island. There are a limited number of charging stations available for sponsorship, so the early bird gets the credit!  A few other rules apply.

If you're coming from the U.S. Northeast, as soon as you cross the border, in St Stephens, NB there is a 90 amp station available 24/7, and others all the way to PEI.
