Dear friends,

I have a 2013 Mk2 Leaf with a 3.6kva PDM model 292C0 3NF9A .
My doubt is can swap the PDM with one from a 2018 40kw Leaf model 292C0 5SH1A ?

Thanks!

kW and kWh are totally different metrics. See https://mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=389317#p389317 and the replies there. Ignore nerys's posts there as he was usually wrong on that subject there and others had to jump in to correct him.

Since @cwerdna is busy trying correct every incorrect usage of power units on the forum, I'll try and answer your question.
I have never seen anyone do a "swap" of the on-board chargers between a Gen1 and Gen2 Leaf. However, there were a few upgrades done (from 3.3 kW -> 6 kW) back in the day. You might want to search the forum for "Brusa charger".

Brusa charger (https://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?t=12323) may not make much sense. '11 and '12 Leaf had the OBC in the trunk area, under a hump.

'13+ moved it to under the hood, part of the PDM stack.

My wild guess is that the OP would have an easier time using a PDM/OBC from another '13 Leaf. Who knows what Nissan has changed between all those years?

When you say 2013, hopefully you have an AZE0 and not ZE0. AZE0 can be upgraded, but ZE0 not.

If you install the 2018+ PDM, you are going to have some issues with Chademo, since the PDM now handles Chademo instead of the VCM

Best to just install a 2013-2017 6.6 PDM

I'm not sure my version, but is a 2013 Tekna with foot break and black interior...

You're not going to find better advice than whatever Dala tells you, but this should be the correct PDM for your LEAF:

292C0-3NF7D

On another post in these forums, someone installed a PDM from a 2016 and it worked:

https://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=609294#p609294

Wait for Dala to confirm though...

This thread also lists alternate parts numbers, which could be helpful for finding a used part on eBay:

https://mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=458867#p458867

Based on that list, this PDM should work:

Again, wait for Dala to confirm.

No coding needed when changing PDMs.

One thing that might differ is the DC/DC converter. If it is wrong type it will flag battery light after swap. If you want to check beforehand just look at transformer for dc at front right if they look the same you should be fine. Older one has two diodes one on top one below central transformer bus bar. Newer unit has one and a bridging piece of copper and one below bus bar. Very uncommon, but a risk.

Hi alozyy,
Many thanks for your useful reply.
Unfortunately the seller don't ship to Portugal.
I will try to find it on local locally...
