2023 leaf battery warmer

Had confirmation from one of the leading LEAF techs in the Pacific Northwest who confirms all current LEAFs still have the battery warmer.

Gerry has access to the service manuals. He says that no 62 kWh LEAF in N.A has a battery heater; and in N.A. only the 40 kWh LEAFs sent to Canada

Your tech may have been talking about some insulation. We are talking about resistance heating

Who knows for sure whether the 40 kWh and 62 kWh batteries have resistance heaters? The 2019 service manual I purchased from Nissan shortly after buying the car has the language I previously noted in the other thread, but the owner manual implies that the batteries have heaters.

I'd check, if possible, to see which document was written or published first. It's possible that a decision was made to include (or not) the warmers after one document was written, but before the second. My own guess is that Nissan originally decided to omit the warmers, but upon learning that Canada would require them, they then decided to include them for the whole North American market.

Failing that, we need to see if there are any Gen II drivers here who noticed a drop in SOC in sub-zero weather or sustained, multi-day single digit weather. I can't say that I did with my 2018 SL...

Are you able to post the relevant page from the service manual? Your description of VIN ranges with battery heaters for the 40 kWh LEAFs read as pretty clear cut.
