Blinking Overhead Console Light

Hello,
I have a 2013 Leaf S and noticed this strange thin light on the overhead console that sometimes blinks white. The manual does not mention this light, I hope someone here can tell me why it blinks randomly.

It shouldn't blink. It should normally be on solid and kinda helps illuminate the shift knob, IIRC.

Most of the time it's not on.. every once in a while I see it blink. Guess I need to figure out what type of bulb or maybe a loose wire.

True it shouldn't blink, it should be on all the time but I don't believe it's supposed to illuminate anything but rather direct your hand to the light buttons. IMO it's way too dim to actually shed light on anything but does direct you to where the actual light switches are. Wish they had something similar near the door unlock buttons that are so hard to find in the dark :idea:

There is a version of the Altima switch that is identical to the Leaf's, except for being lighted.
