Something a lot of people have been asking for - an EV/PHEV in the form of an AWD SUV. We should have this by Mar '13 when the FY12 ends for Japan.

The PHEV (called PX-MiEV) will have about 30 miles of EV range. The new redesigned '13 Outlander alreadys looks dated, but priced well the PHEV should be hot sellers. They are virtually without any competitor in their field (except for limited edition RAV4EV in CA). C-Max Energi is a mini-mini-van that doesn't come in AWD.

That's an interesting one to watch for. With an EV range of 30 miles or so, and if its hybrid MPG is in the range of 45 to 50 mpg, our 2007 Prius can go on to a new owner.

i would find it very extraordinary to see mileage anywhere near that high but with a 30 mile EV range it would be very tempting for us as well to replace our Prius. a larger car would be nice because we do have storage issues frequently which up to now has been solved by going camping with other family members who can take some of our gear. this would cover that and plus put us in a situation where it would still be all EV most of the time.

The picture you have there is the next gen Outlander ICE replacement, but PHEV will be Outlander Sport version which is smaller then Rav4.
