California Infuses CVRP with $43M as of September 24, 2013

The Clean Vehicle Rebate Project page (https://energycenter.org/programs/clean-vehicle-rebate-project) has been updated and states "The CVRP received an influx of $44.5 million from new legislation that is pending the Governor's signature. This new funding has been added to the available rebate...

    Economics don't work out...

Hi Bob, My question concerns how accurate (to how many significant figures) is the range you receive per hour of charging. Is it 4.00 or 4.25 rounded to 4.00? 4.00 seems really low to me because I get closer to 5 miles of range per hour. At 5, that would be ~110 eMPG.

REFUEL 2013 at Laguna Seca [Update: Nissan will provide qc]

Since I didn't opt for a QC port when I ordered my LEAF more than 3 years ago, I can't easily get there from Sacramento. Instead, I'll be driving my Prius and will be watching from the stands. Wandering around Monterey tonight, I've already seen 4 Model S. Tomorrow should be great fun (even as...

    2 years 12 bars

I have actually had my Ah measured recently by both Gid meter and ELM327. I'm at 88% and have heard of folks at 84% who haven't lost the first CB but are expecting it at any time.

    2 years 12 bars

27 months. 25,000 miles. No bars lost here in Sacramento. At home, I only charge after 1am. At work, I begin my charge at 7am. 95% of the time, I only charge to 80% SOC. I'm not going to worry about the new software because I'll be turning the car in 9 months from now. Likely for a 2014 LEAF :D

carbon footprint building a leaf vs IC car

A highly technical well-to-wheels analysis titled "Contribution of Li-Ion Batteries to the Environmental Impact of Electric Vehicles" was published in Environmental Science and Technology in 2010 (http://pubs.acs.org/doi/pdf/10.1021/es903729a" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)...

Sacramento Area Leafs Meeting [Thread Retired]

Happy Garden has great Chinese food. Just went there tonight. I may be in San Francisco that day. If not, I would be happy to help shuttle folks from Elk Grove Nissan. Mark Williams

Sacramento Area Leafs Meeting [Thread Retired]

Pyramid opens at noon on Saturday. IIRC, they charge an exorbitant fee for their separate rooms. There are several large open seating areas including on the second floor. And as far as pictures go, I can host someone and their camera into the CalEPA building so that we can shoot down on the...

maintaining a low SOC to preserve battery life

I've driven about 16,000 miles in Sacramento over the last 17 months. I charge only to 80% Monday through Thursday at work and then to 100% on Friday so that it carries me through as much of the weekend as possible. I seldom go below two bars and have only seen the low battery warning about...

$7,500 OFF MSRP Only at Fontana Nissan

MSRP for the 2011 SL is $33,280. Add $750 for the fast charger and $300 for the cargo organizer and you're up to $34,330. $1,775 seems a bit high for splash guards, protection package, a safety kit, and mats.

    LEAF's brakes saved me today

After three months, I'm still getting used to the LEAF's grippy brakes. Twice now, I have applied the same amount of force necessary to quickly decelerate my Prius, and have inadvertently initiated an emergency stop instead.

    CNN Money stupidity

A real journalist would have done some homework and asked "why does the U.S. EPA window sticker say the LEAF has a 73 mile range?" Or "is the L.A. 4 Test Cycle upon which the 100 miles is based representative of real world driving?" Followed by "really, you're saying there's no degradation in...

Unable to Restart after using AC (was AC causes failure)

Our March 26 delivery, VIN 668, is also a "B" and we have had no problems. We've only used the A/C a couple of times, but it's been on several times with defrost. We've preconditioned once.
