I have a similar problem with two different USB sticks, one more often than the other. I told them at the one year check and after about two weeks the dealer got the OK from Nissan to replace the radio (still waiting for it to come in, we'll have to see if this will fix the problem).

Unless public chargers can be reserved in advance, and can be relied on to be available they are useless for anything but casual charging.

Update: They took the recorder out again, and also drove the leaf for one day. So far neither Nissan nor we were able to reproduce the problem and they apparently don't know what is going on. Below two more pictures of that recorder box. There are are actually two boxes, one looks like some...

Update: some engineers with an Asian accent interviewed me yesterday by phone for about 10 min to get more details of what happened, looked at the Leaf and drove around for about 50% charge, but could not reproduce the problem and they are not sure what is going on. So for now they put a data...

Just cover the light sensor on the passenger side dashboard, very close to the windshield, then turn the light to "auto". Works very well.
