Thoughts on where to install a 240V outlet

I have ordered one of the Panasonic EVSE Units from EVSEUpgrade.com http://evseupgrade.com/?main_page=product_info&cPath=5&products_id=5" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; When it arrives I am hoping to keep it plugged in outdoors. I assume it is OK to keep connected to the...

    Battery Replacement Program Details

Last week I got a call from the Honda dealer on the FIT. I guess I really was next in line on the list. In short, I am now the leasee of the 169th Honda FIT EV. If it weren't for this thread, I probably would have a Leaf right now. Anyway it will still be a consideration in 3 years when my...

Tax credits of up to $7,500 for EVs to expire 12/31?

Thank you. That was my understanding as well, but the article really put me in a panic.

Tax credits of up to $7,500 for EVs to expire 12/31?

The following article says: "Finally, you need to act quickly if you are considering an electric plug-in car such as the Ford Focus Electric or the Nissan Leaf. Tax credits of up to $7,500 for electric vehicles are also set to expire on Dec. 31." Is this true? How did I miss this? Was...

Newbie Charging Question 80% / 100% by Day of Week

Just curious as to how an 80% charge is better for the battery than a 100% charge. Is that a standard option on the charger (80% or 100%) or can you set any level like 90%? Can you have the charger turn off at a specific battery level but still have wall power to have the car preheat at a set...

    Battery Replacement Program Details

I am a potential buyer. Still interested but every time I read updates on this I am put off even further. My original plan was to purchase, I then changed my opinion to lease, based on this thread. At the same time I put my name on the list for the Honda FIT Lease and I am now told I am next...

    2013 Nissan Versa

I have been noticing how I sit in my Prius and see that I rarely put my head back on the headrest. The seat is very comfortable while just sitting up as well as when I lean back on the headrest. I am wondering if there is something about the Nissan seat that made my natural sitting position...

    2013 Nissan Versa

Thanks everyone. This is the item that bothered me most about the Versa. This is unfortunate that it carries over to the Leaf. I really thought that someone had put the headrest on backwards as I couldn't believe anyone would design a seat that way. Anyway, I was able to get used to...

    2013 Nissan Versa

Whats a Nissan Versa topic doing here? Well, my past vehicles have been Toyota. Over 15 years ago I was buying Honda. This weekend, I rented a car. It was a Nissan Versa. It did not have the usual sturdy feel that the Toyota's have. The driver's seat was very uncomfortable. I had to...

Thoughts on where to install a 240V outlet

Agreed, but for what I need now and the amount of money I have to put into it, this is sufficient. Also, now that I have a sub panel put in with several open slots, a second dedicated circuit is an easy upgrade.

Thoughts on where to install a 240V outlet

It is from TayMac http://www.taymac.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. I cannot seem to identify the exact item on their websire and there doesnt seem to be very good markings on the model number. You can grab this picture and zoom in yourself.

Thoughts on where to install a 240V outlet

I finally got my quote. The electrician said he could install a 30A L6-30 receptical indoors and outdoors on the same circuit. No need for a second circuit since I will only use one outlet at a time. Also no need to go with 20A outdoors. I will be getting a 24 circuit 50 Amp sub panel next...
