Nissan : EV batteries must deliver 300 km (186 m) to compete

Instead of the entertaining FCEV vs BEV, can someone enlighten us with inside information, or at least a reasonable clue as to how Nissan will get that 300 km range of the next gen LEAF: * improved aerodynamics * drivetrain efficiencies * battery chemistry * battery TMS * ???

Integrated Automatic Neutral In Drive Mode.

The Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive is said to have paddle shifts behind the steering wheel that allows the driver to select: disengage drive, low regen or strong regen. The 150 mile LEAF better have this option!!  . To me its the best scenario without having to...

    100 Mile Club, 200 km, 300 km, 200 Mile Club (24kWh LEAF)

This is my official submission to join the 100 mile club. First let me indicate that my LEAF is a UK import to our sunny isle of Barbados (http://www.barbados.org) in the Caribbean. I have done 160 km before on a full charge, but now here's the evidence. Gotta try for that 200 km club - it's...

How much would you pay for a 30 km range boost?

Have both tested as stated before. If the battery condition of both are somewhat within tolerance of each other, go for the 2012 model year. Here's why: 1) you save yourself a good few thousand dollars which will take approximately 5 years or more of driving to possibly break even 2) the 2012...

Aero style Leaf info added to Nissans Japan website

What are you guys talking about??? As soon as this Aero Style Kit becomes reasonably priced I am changing my front bumper, side and rear skirts.

Rear ended-- Shuld I repair or get a new bumper cover

Apologies for flogging a dead post, but with the LEAF Aero style to launch in Japan on 18th January, 2014, would anyone be considering replacing their front bumper with the pic below if it got damaged? http://bbs.kakaku.com/bbs/K0000099959/SortID=16928399/ImageID=1760173/

Had the P3227 reprogram done today: interesting results.

From my discussions with other LEAF owners in the UK, it appears that the regen sensor is known for going faulty with a year or two. I can't say how much weather and SOC has on the sensor being glitchy, but a simple change of the sensor should solve the problem if it's not related to the...

Spare Tyre location Pictures on AU Spec LEAF

The UK Leaf does NOT have a spare, it uses the same emergency tire kit a the US spec. And yes, it does have both cruise control and speed limiter. I imagine the aussie version has the same steering wheel controls!

    Changing headlight beams

Actually, the Owner's Manual of the RHD LEAF has a detailed section on this, so all you need to do is to follow the instructions. Now why would that be in there? Maybe because some Brits might want to travel over to Europe and vice versa, and that the LEAF plant is based in Sunderland, UK.

Volt vs. Leaf - What finally pushed you to the Leaf?

I was considering both the Ampera and LEAF when it was time to change my car. My initial leanings were to the Ampera because of its range extender and better looks, but I could never get over the sticker shock. The economics of the Ampera was just unacceptable. Then, I happened to test drive...

    Changing headlight beams

The same principle that applies to others cars should also work here. Instead of going though all of the headache with realigning headlight beams, which I presume can only be done by a Nissan Service Centre, how about replacing the RHD headlights with the LHD versions. Pricey, yes but much...
