Has anyone on here tried to use portable solar panels to trickle charge their leaf? I would like to do this while I am at work, but not sure if this is an option. Not looking to charge to 100% necessarily, but maybe add about 15-20% over about 8 hours.
I have it packed in a plastic bag with silica packages and some rice. I am hoping that there was some moisture in the system and this has been freezing during the cold temps. It is supposed to get really cold here later this week so I guess I will find out!
I have an EVI Portable EV charger. Model number: PC-0113-AA-SM and am finding when the temperatures dip below about 20 degrees or so, the charger will not keep charging. It responds immediately as if it is charging but turns off after about 5 seconds or so. When I bring it inside and let it warm...
I have a 2013 Leaf that I drive 25 miles to and from work everyday. I plug in every night at home to charge and only charge to 80% to prolong battery life. However, this means I must plug in at school everyday to recharge to ensure enough juice to get home (at least during the colder months). Is...
The charger is an EVI Portable EV charger. Model number: PC-0113-AA-SM. I use a 220 outlet that is installed in my garage and the 110 adapter for the same charger when I am at work. We HAVE had some messy snow and rain the last few days so hopefully that is all it needed was to be dried out...
So, I brought the charger in the house to let it warm up (which I really didn't think needed to be done, but what the heck...) and also used a toothbrush to clean the charging gun. I went back out to try it again and it worked... Not sure what the answer was but I am hoping it was the cleaning...
This is not necessarily the same problem but I can't find where to post a new thread. I am trying to charge my Leaf but, even though the charge light comes on, I hear a clicking noise in the car and it turns off. The temperature outside is right around 0º so I was wondering if that may have...
Is there a free version of the navigation update? It seems that $180 for a map is a bit steep. Especially when Apple Maps and Google Maps are free. I would much rather use my car nav system, but not for that price... Just checking!
I think this may have resolved my issue! I can't believe it was something as simple as that. It didn't say anything in the car manual about it and I guess I didn't realize the charger is an "after model" charger. Now I know. Hopefully this ends the saga. Thanks for all your assistance!!
Ok, I may be getting closer. After setting the timer last night with no start time and only an end time to 80%, I plugged the car in and there were no beeps or lights. I pushed the button on the charger (EVI Portable EV Charger. Model number: PC-0113-AA-SM) and the car beeped and the timer...
I am still somewhat baffled with the timer situation... I tried to have it charge last night with no start time and let it begin when the car thinks it needs to start. It still didn't work. I reset all the timers tonight and thought of something. I am using the 3.3Kw 240v home charger. When I...
So Timer 2 worked just fine last night (On Time 10p, off time 5a, 80% Charge) I have it charging that way three days a week to save battery life.
Hopefully Timer 1 works tonight (same start and end time; 100% Charge) I use this timer to get the most mileage so I do not have to plug in at school...
Just tried resetting timers earlier today and still did not start charging at the entered start time... I am not sure what I could possibly be doing wrong. It seems very simple and I am guessing I may be missing something very very easy. Will keep trying I guess...
