Cool! Thanks for the answer. So it's possible to harvest (and sell) energy during peak hours at a high rate (especially during summer), and then charge the car (buy energy) at a much lower cost at night. It can get even better if, for example, you use your car to power your home during the day...

Question... (sorry to piggyback on the thread) If you have TOU rates, and then get a PV System (lets assume with surplus production)... does PGE credit you the peak/partial-peak rate during the day? Or do you guys know if they use a different rate for credits?

Functional just in time for 2013! Dialed down to 75% (22.5A), and using existing dryer wiring.

Actually I'm having it deliveried tomorrow - ordered it last night... gotta love Amazon Prime! it's the Siemens that plugs into the NEMA 6-50 dryer wall plug, which I already have installed (30A 240V circuit). My new dryer runs on gas, so that plug was free. In mi case it seems just plug&play...

I just leased my LEAF (6.6kW charger) and was wondering the same thing. But I guess that answers my question (1) not enough ppl turning in cars yet, (2) even if you find one, it will most likely be an early version with little juice to take advantage of the 6.6kW charger. Better call Phil.
