Its inability to use the US market CHadeMO level 3 chargers doesn't help. It feels a little odd to keep bashing the i3 but I was really excited about it initially, but now I just don't see it.
When Tesla comes out with their cheaper sedan I think it'll be a new market entirely. I love my '13 Leaf but would definitely like a bit more range so when my lease runs out it'll be interesting to see what's available at that point. The i3 is a complete non-starter - if I were to pay that...
Which is also contained within the Nissan Leaf forum, not the BMW Forum, so it's *completely* appropriate to compare the BMW to the Leaf and what it does/doesn't bring to the table in comparison.
BMW already lost my respect by offering little more than the Leaf for a much higher price, and with lease rates so insanely high that I fail to see why people just wouldn't get a Tesla.
I usually tell this story: I know someone whose deal-breaker purchasing decision for his new car is always whether it can tow his boat.... The boat he has to tow... *maybe* once a year when he pulls it out of the water [sometimes he has someone else do it]. So, he buys a big SUV and commutes...
