Range in cold weather (not Bad driving 35-45 MPH )

Seattle has been hit by really cold weather (for Seattle) and got down to the 20s during the day. From driving this week, I learned that slowing down really help as cold air is harder to push thru and drag is even more magnified as temperature drops. '13 SL Charge to 80% Commute 23 miles on...

    Pimp your Leaf (Nismo style)

Sounds like Nissan is very careful with the NISMO brand and goes the extra mile to ensure quality (and maybe exclusiveness).

    new 80% charging problem???

After messing with the fuse boxes the other day, I am seeing the same issue with charging stopped at 70%, with a few twists. Quick background: blew a fuse while changing light bulb. With L1 plugged in, I checked a number of fuses to see which one is out. Since then, the charger would stop at...

    Fuse for parking lights

This thread is a great reference for blown fuses while changing light bulbs. I got a pack of 10 ebay W5W 5-SMD LED lights and proceeded to change all W5W incandescent bulbs. I got thru all without problem, until the last license plate light, when I blew a fuse. Cheapo Chinese made bulb had a...

Almost done fully LEDing my '11 Leaf SL

After reading this mod, I decided to do the LED fog light replacement. I can't stand having yellow-ish incandescent fog lights in a high tech car. Installation is a breeze. Just take off a few bolts to get my hand under the wheel well. BTW, what is that little light next to the high beam...

    LED LIGHTING

totally agree. My first mod was to get a LED dome light. It made a big difference! http://www.ebay.com/itm/111102170177?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Steering Wheel Heater & Seat Heater suck

'13 SL. The steering wheel heater works great for me. 10 sec in and the wheels is all warmed up. Seat warmers work great, too. The rear seat warmer is a nice touch!

Going on Vacation, what SOC% to leave car at?

how about for a longer period? We are planning a 3 week vacation in December/January. Leave it at 80% SOC? I can have my brother-in-law to drive it around every weekend. But he is so lazy and unreliable so that I might as well just let it sit.

ICEless in Seattle : Official Pacific NorthWest thread

Man... Seattle or PNW really deserve it's own forum on this board. This thread is HUGE! After 10 days of ownership, we finally took a long, multi-stop trip today. The Wife has been commuting on the Leaf this past week. It does the job nicely with her 46 mile round trip commute (50 with...

    2013 B Mode

The more I drive the Leaf, the more I use the B mode, especially when I know there is a high chance that I would need to adjust my speed/slowing down. Like Kevinleaf said, it's like downshifting in ICE car and use engine brake to slow down. With B mode, I hardly ever use the actual brake...

How Much Does the LEAF Lose In The Cold?

Very helpful info. The outside temp is dropping and the best we could manage is about 4.5m/kwh thus far. Look forward to warmer weather!

    Carwings Data Lag

I've been playing around with all the features that the Leaf has to offer. That includes the Carwings. Growing up as a Nintendo kid in the 80s and work as an analyst, I find the telematics within Carwings fascinating. Although many of you find the Carwings system glitchy and not very useful...

Nissan Quoted Price for Battery Replacement

we just took delivery of our Leaf. During the required official tutorial, we got to talking about battery degradation. Although it may not be a big issue up here in Seattle, I asked about battery replacement cost any way. The EV specialist at the dealership said that she asked the Nissan EV...

The official "I got my Leaf" thread

Got our SL w/ premium 2 nights ago. We were originally looking at a SV w/ QC. But after looking at the difference between SL, we thought what the hell and went all out. We are in Seattle and feel pretty comfortable with how the battery would last up there. So we went with a purchase. We...
