Best EVSE/charging solution for my situation?

If you want to save a few bucks on wire consider installing a NEMA 6-50 outlet. This won't require a neutral wire that the EVSE ignores anyway, and it will still work to charge the Leaf at full speed.

    2018 Leaf EVSE

I just noticed the Nissan web site lists a 120/240 volt portable charge cord as an option. Does anyone know the amp ratings or if it will have different plugs like the Tesla UMC?

2018 leaf analog speedometer . Whadayathink?

My last four cars have all had just a digital or both types and I have gotten so used to digital that analog speedometers annoy me now.

    Which plug: 14-50 or 6-50

I used the 14-50 outlet in my garage to test a used dryer I bought before I hauled it downstairs to the laundry room.

    Duosida EVSE Just Arrived.

You could get the evse with the 14-50 plug and cut off the unused neutral pin then it would plug into 14-30 wall outlet just fine. This would be cheaper than swapping plugs and you could still use it on the road with rv outlets.

Best battery strategy for low mileage Leaf?

The loss of the 80% option was my biggest pet peeve on my 2015. I always tried to out smart the timer and I still lost 7% a year. It would be so much more enjoyable to own an ev that you can plug in every time you park it and never have to worry about leaving it too full. Nissan really dropped...

Advise on Purchasing a Leaf in Utah

Congratulations on getting a Leaf. Getting L2 charging at home will make the car more enjoyable especially in the winter. I would have the electrician put a 240 outlet in your garage and get a plug in evse. I've had a GE durastation for over a year with zero problems. Clipper Creek makes solid...

Advise on Purchasing a Leaf in Utah

If you are near Weber or Davis county I could help you with Leafspy and advise you on home charging. Also my Leaf did great in the snow with the stock tires last winter. I'm sure snow tires would make it amazing.

Nissan tells my wife to sit in the BACK SEAT!

Why would riding in the back with no airbag be safer than riding in the front with no airbag?

    What charge amperage is best?

Thanks, I've found a lot of good information here. I'm just north of you in Clinton, and have started to notice quite a few Leafs around town. I bought my Leaf from Carmax with less than 1000 miles on it. I tried some of the Nissan dealers and found the sales departments are one step above pond...

    What charge amperage is best?

Thanks for the responses. Just to clarify I have an 8 gauge line from my breaker panel so I'm safe up to 32 amps continuous. My car will pull up to 6.6KW from the wall witch works out to 27.5 amps. Also I live in northern Utah so we get cold in the winter and hot in the summer. I charge my car...

    What charge amperage is best?

Hi everyone, I have a 2015 Leaf S with quick charge package. I also have a GE Durastation in my garage. The Durastation can be set for 12, 16, 24, or 30 amps. What setting would be best for the longest battery life? All of the settings are fast enough to charge overnight, and my electric...

    Checking the Goods

Hi Lowjumpingfrog, I'm pretty sure I test drove your car last month. It should be red with tinted windows. If it is the dealer didn't know much about it. It would be an SV with no charge or premium package. The first thing I would do is disconnect the aftermarket amp wiring. It had a huge...
