Nissan USA should offer SAE Combo plug

fastcharge EVGO has 23 chargers in the Dallas/Ft Worth area and 17 chargers in the Houston area which are all CHAdeMo plus Level 2 chargers together. If you install a SAE charger in San Marcos you may not have much business. There may be other DC chargers but I am not aware of any in Texas.

    DIY seat heaters

I am finally getting around to installing my seat heaters using the OEM switches. I am tapping into the shift indicator lighting circuit and I need to know which wires to tap. The Wiki photos look like they are tapping the white wire and the black wire but I need to make sure. Also which wire is...

    DFW Metroplex

The eVgo station in Burleson does have what looks to be a 120 volt outlet on the backside of the column for the security light. It has a cover over it with a three wheel combination lock. I guess you could call for the combination in an emergency or if you have lots of time you could go through...

    Recent Texas roadtrip using QC

I have had the car for one year, 9000 miles, all my battery bars (12?). I usually do not test the battery this way but I just got access to the quick chargers and took the opportunity to try long distance driving. I drove highway speeds between 55 and 70 mph with a driver and passenger with...

SAE Planning vote to formally deny CHAdeMO in US

eVgo has at least six QC stations in Dallas/Fort Worth and about eleven in Houston. They are all privately owned by eVgo so they must think there is a market since many more are scheduled for installation. They are not in Austin where you think you may be in California but are in Texas. They are...

As of 2017, 17,700 CHAdeMO chargers, 775,000 CHAdeMO compatible cars worldwide

eVgo's charging stations in Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth are checked each day and I receive an email if there are any stations with problems. A continuously updated map might be a better solution but what they have works.

SAE Planning vote to formally deny CHAdeMO in US

For GM it is as simple as ABC. (Anything But CHAdeMO)

Upcoming car show, questions & concerns.

If you lived in an apartment in the DFW area you could use the eVgo quick chargers to charge your car. Thirty nine dollars a month plus nineteen dollar sign up fee for a one year contract for unlimited use. So for a years driving five hundred dollars for as much as you can drive. You just have...

SAE Planning vote to formally deny CHAdeMO in US

At least 10 in Houston and at least 6 in DFW. Since eVgo is a private company and headquartered in Texas they have worked without having to wait for too much government support except on the local permitting level. On the other hand no one seems to be throwing too many roadblocks in the way here...

Tour of 5 DFW evGo DC quick charge stations

I drove the speed limit at 65 most of the way except near Cleburne which was 55 due to construction. Going thru Burleson and Joshua on HW 174 would be slower and cut a few miles off.

Tour of 5 DFW evGo DC quick charge stations

Yesterday I drove from Glen Rose to Burleson to try out the QC station. I started at 100% charge and drove HW 67 then HW 35 to Burleson and had 19 miles remaining when I arrived at the Cracker Barrel QC. It took 15 to 20 minutes to charge from 19 miles to 88 miles. I did not time it because I...

SAE Planning vote to formally deny CHAdeMO in US

Used QC for the first time in Burleson, Texas. eVgo has six Freedom stations which include L2 and QC operational and about ten more scheduled before September in the DFW area. Houston area is also moving along. These two systems will be nearly completed before any SAE standard is settled upon...

Are you a net producer or consumer of electricity?

Reached a milestone last month, drove the LEAF 500 miles and supplied all my home electrical needs and the utility credited me with $1.24. Home is all electric with a deep well water pump. Solar array is a little over 8000 watts DC with a grid tie inverter system.

Tour of 5 DFW evGo DC quick charge stations

I checked on the quick charger in Burleson today and it is powered and appeared ready to use. I asked the manager of the Cracker Barrel restaurant about the charger a month and a half ago but she did not know anything about it. There was no indication any work had been done then. Now there are...

    DFW Metroplex

Go to youtube TXU Energy channel and look for "The City of Dallas Plugs in with Electric Vehicle Charging Stations". I am not familiar enough with the Dallas City Hall area to tell you the location but they are shown in the video.

Fresh And Easy scores a near miss...

First time post so please bear with me. Earlier in this topic the discussion centered on which was cleaner a BEV or hybrid. The answer will vary widely depending on the state but in Texas the grid is controlled by ERCOT. The 2008 peak was 62,000 MW and the wind generation in Texas is around...
