Mods for the Blink EVSE ! (was Fix)

Lots of original commercial pedestal L2 units are getting decommissioned these days... Does anyone know if they can be turned into dumb units after disconnecting blue cables from the Linux computer? Is that an option like on the residential units or can anything else be done with them?

    The Battery Replacement Thread

My 2012 LEAF lost the second bar not long ago and I'm still hoping to lose the next two before November (whatever it takes...) My SOH actually went up from 78% to 79% but my energy capacity decreased from 17 kWh to 15.8 kWh (73%) in the last couple of weeks. My latest AHr is 51.86 which would...

    The Battery Replacement Thread

It's been confirmed on GCR that, while the same size, the new 30 kWh battery is NOT compatible with the older LEAF models.

    The Battery Replacement Thread

So what's worse for the battery - leaving it empty or full for extended periods of time? I know heat and cycling are the worst but what's next in line? Just wondering about things I should NOT do, so I don't get my lizard replacement next year.

Our LEAF disrupts our PV system while charging at L2

Thank you for your responses, guys! The message I get is 0W and 0 for connected devices when it would say 8 otherwise and in the full sun. It also only happens when my 2012 is charging. My 2013 that's connected and charging right now doesn't seem to affect powerline communication. Very odd...

Our LEAF disrupts our PV system while charging at L2

Old thread but the new issue to me :) I too experience similar powerline communication issues when L2 charging my 2012 LEAF. It tends to happen when I come close to the max output of my small system... Aside from reporting gaps and Envoy showing 0W, am I still producing all the power that I...

30A 7.2kW Deluxe OpenEVSE waterproof outdoor unit For Sale

This is cheap - I wish you had another one :-)

Why I'm not generating full capacity?

    Here's a good link that explains how steeper tilts (mostly) peak in the colder months: http://solarpaneltilt.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

    DIY Solar PV Installation

It's fascinating stuff about the sun. I really expected my summer current and total production to be off the charts and here you are blowing my bubble :-( What's next, you're going to tell me that it's the Earth revolving around the sun and not the other way around? [Edited out for confusing...

    DIY Solar PV Installation

It peaked at 1.98 kW on the first day, so I was getting super close to the max of 8 x 250W and I'd expect the summer months to get there more often. But you're totally right; if I go with cheaper 250W panels, M215s are the way to go. Are there any other differences between the two? I took a...

    DIY Solar PV Installation

Thank you so much for documenting everything so nicely. I looked at your parts list and it's amazing how you got it down to the last bolt and a can of grease :-) However, even though it was done last year, I'm finding that you had gotten some of the best prices (even now) I could find for...

    Official Ford Focus Electric Thread

Exactly - Those were the kinds of prices we were paying on 11/11/11 but not now. Another joker across town got it down to $400 but that's still a joke.

    Extended Warranty

It looks like Vaden is hundreds of $$$ more than Santa Rosa (even after the additional $100 for mileage) now.

    Official Ford Focus Electric Thread

I got quoted close to $600/month for the 24 month lease (no leather), so I can easily get TWO SVs for that price. They only have a couple in the entire state, so it looks like Ford just gave the entire Georgia to Nissan. I wonder why because they would be able to sell their entire production...

    charging on generator

So all in all, my little Honda eu2000i charging at 1.9 kWh using the second gen modified EVSE doesn't seem so bad or slow anymore. It's rated at 2K, surge at 2.2K but holding steady (and loud!) at 1.9K for hours until gas runs out.

    cycle carrier

The hitch is a great solution and I regularly carry five bikes with my cheap(er) Allen Sports bike carrier.

Using Fed credit more than once?

I'm planning to install 10 panels or so this year (claim 30% for 2014) and then follow it up with additional 10 or more next year (all hooked up together to the same system.) Can I claim another 30% from the cost of expansion in 2015?

    charging on generator

Thank you so much for your response, Phil! It all makes sense now. With the upgraded software, are you still able to select 16 amps if needed? I like it, especially if the outlet or the generator can handle it... Going back to the generator, I just noticed it only takes .95 gallons, so the MPG...

    charging on generator

Phil - I don't understand what you just said... The resistor mod, as described earlier in the thread, was applied and it makes the '12 modified EVSE and '13 unmodified EVSE work great. My Clipper Creek still doesn't work though :( I finally ran the generator dry in less than three hours (burned...

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

Third summer in GA finally got my first bar today... 2012 SL 30,360 miles, AHr=55.52, 228 GIDs I'm taking a good care of it but I'm now afraid I'm not losing fast enough to get the new battery within the next two years... However, it still had 260 GIDs earlier this year, so it looks like the...
