    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

Lost my second bar today. Can someone update the wiki? 26 months 21397 miles Vin: 01742 Case # 11687186 I was #98 of the 1st bar losers, @ 13,146 miles & 16 months Looks like I'm losing capacity a little quicker than battery aging model suggests. I'm in the sub 80% club during the summer (try...

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

Six temp bars when I got in my LEAF yesterday morning at 6:30am here in Tucson. My outside temperature gauge showed 68. The high the day before was 93, and I had six temp bars on my drive home even though it was parked in the shade all day. Five bars this morning, with a low of 57 last night...

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

I wonder if Nissan has ever accepted buyback on any 1-bar lost LEAF yet or not? Maybe you need to lose at least 2 bars? I would wait until you lose your second bar and contact Nissan again with a new request. If you already lost 2 bars and still got denied, I'd try to contact the local news...

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

I got the same letter from Nissan. BBB is denying my claim as well, they say "you are not alleging a defect in materials or workmanship". I clearly stated in my letter that the battery is defective in hot climates. I sent in my appeal yesterday. Pretty sure I will lose two more bars this...

I would only sign on for a 2 year lease. The battery cannot take the heat and will loose capacity rapidly. Parking it in the sun is bad for the battery, but if you are leasing it won't matter much. It's a great car for scooting around town though. You shouldn't have a problem with range in two...

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

Called yesterday to request a buyback. My old case number was inactive so they assigned me a new one. 10608223. Nissan called me back today and denied my request. Wow, that was fast. I filed with the BBB today. Super disappointed with the way Nissan is handling hot weather LEAFs. I love the...

I tried to trade in my Leaf for a Volt. They would only give me $14k. I'm not sure about the used market, and I didn't try Carmax.

Super stoked on the new quick charger. May actually allow us to drive to Phoenix and back, if your battery hasn't lost all of it's capacity from the heat.

Ghosn finally concedes 2012 EV targets will not be met

After reading those comments, it amazes me how some of those people could actually use a computer. It also reinforces just how ignorant most people are in regards to electric cars.

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

My car has been on the highway twice, for a total of 20 miles in it's entire life. I drive it to and from work, with occasional side trips. My average speed is 22mph over the life of the car. I average 9980 miles per year. 5 star reports on my battery checks. Charge only to 80%, 95% of the time...

I was at 16 months, and 13K miles when I lost my bar. I wasn't expecting a EOL in 4 years when I bought my LEAF.

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

Yes. Set my end timer to around an hour before I leave for work and that gives me the right amount of charge for the day. I usually get home with about 3 bars left.
