Aircon goes back to outside-air mode every time. Help pls.

Yep, this is exactly what I do. AUTO then RECIRC. But the next time the car is turned on, it goes back to OUTSIDE AIR. It used to be able to stay on RECIRC. For the first 2+ years of use. Then after some battery module replacement job, it cannot stick any more.

Aircon goes back to outside-air mode every time. Help pls.

My mid-2012 Leaf used to be able to remember the last setting for freshair/recirculate. But after some battery module replacement jobs, it no longer stays where I leave it. It is back to outside-air intake mode every time I start the car. Am I missing something? Thank you!

How long to lose your first bar?

Just lost my second bar at 8886 miles (14,300 km), at 21 months. I only used the 80% charging mode for the first 2 months or so. Tropical climate. Is mine a new record?

    FIamm horns died

Another update... I found that my 18mth old FIAMM AM80S is indeed faulty, verified with a bench power supply, the symptom is that sometimes when 12V is applied it just makes a single "clunk" sound, and draws high current while being silent. Sometimes it horns normally. This probably caused the...

    FIamm horns died

Hi all, After much futzing around trying to understand the problem, I removed the horn relay for testing, and found the the coil pins were shorted out. And the output leg was open relative to the other two legs. Anyway, most importantly, I finally realized that the wimpy horn sound was the...

    FIamm horns died

Wow, my pair of Fiamm El Grande AM80S suddenly lost its normal sound, and now sounds wimpier than the stock horn. This is after about 18 months too. I installed them soon after getting the LEAF. I pulled removed the horns from the car for bench testing, using a 12VDC bench supply, and they...

I agree about the D-ECO-P! I like to watch the 3 energy pies too. Is it just me or does it take about 3 touches to get to the energy pies? (there's that disclaimer screen to OK away, every single time!)

    Headlight Switching Options

Because inevitably, there will be a kind soul who will approach you to inform you that you forgot to switch off the headlights to save you from a flat starter battery?

“Gear shifter”, time for it to go?

Nissan sales guy pointed out to me that pull-to-set-brake is the same direction as mechanical handbrake levers. The form factor is very different though... MercBenz has step to set, pull short lever to release. Anyway, I agree that the puck and parking brake should go somewhere else, for the...

“Gear shifter”, time for it to go?

Perhaps. I agree the ergonomics are OK, it is just pragmatism, that I don't want them taking up valuable space that could be used for storing stuff.

    Headlight Switching Options

Off-topic question: Is it possible to use AUTO and switch off the "fog-lamps" the incandescent-looking lights at the lower-left and lower-right?

“Gear shifter”, time for it to go?

The puck-shifter and electric parking brake have OK ergonomics, but I too would prefer the center console freed up for storing stuff. The electric parking brake feels a lot more "premium" than the puck shifter. I just don't like the lack of immediate feedback... The puck shifter has...

    Dashboard display suggestions

Yes! From what I understand from the pro-tree people, it sounds like the trees are supposed to be a measure of efficient-driving-behavior, after normalizing away circumstances outside of the driver's control. (which circumstances? traffic lights? stop signs? congestion? outside-temperature...

    Dashboard display suggestions

I agree, I forgot about the power limiting indicators. Should be simple to add. I only realized after a 2 weeks that the Guess-O-meter wasn't going to learn from my driving history, or from the average kW/km figure in the center display. So the GOM is equivalent to a strictly unchanging...

    Dashboard display suggestions

    1. Don't really care for the growing trees indicator, especially if there is no explanation of what exactly it indicates. I don't think it represents the simple sum of regenerative braking energy right? (This is like the "leaf" icons in Toyota Prius.) 2. The big "bubble-style" instantaneous...

Scheduling method 2 keep ur 12v battery charged while vaca

Wait a minute, from what I understand of the 12V batt vacation-depletion problem, it is the fact that a charger is left plugged into the car, will either inhibit the 5-day charging of the 12V batt, AND/OR will cause additional draw on the 12V batt whenever the charger is plugged in. This would...

I cannot completely mute the NAV?

Thanks DaveinOlyWA and jkirkebo, Yes, I would like to disable the NAV as thoroughly as possible. I have explored the menus and switched OFF everything that seemed remotely relevant. The few most relevant-sounding items are - "Guidance Voice" - "TMC Traffic Announcement"" - "Safety Camera...

I cannot completely mute the NAV?

Hi all, In my country, Leaf's are just being introduced, and they only come with Europe NAV system. I want to completely switch it off, because it is randomly announcing things like "Speed Camera 200m ahead". Nissan authorized dealer told me to go into "Settings > Volume and Beeps" to mute it...

DIY Horn Upgrade Mod - Updated Jan 12

I just did mine. The FIAMM horns that I bought were not marked as EL GRANDE, they are marked "AM80S, 12V, Super horn pair with relay, barcode: 0 32741 74100 3" They have the same metal grille, but the red plastic covers do not have "fins". Got them in a department store for the equivalent of...
