My13, 35K miles, battery "failing". Advice requested

Makes sense, but if that was the case they I hope wouldn't have quoted me 9K to fix it... Dave

My13, 35K miles, battery "failing". Advice requested

Thank you guys! I didnt realize the battery comes with the 8 year warranty. Went and looked it up. I'm now just furious that neither the dealer nor Nissan North America pointed that out to me. So scummy. The car is at the dealer, got towed there straight from my work so I don't have any codes...

My13, 35K miles, battery "failing". Advice requested

Hey guys, I have a '13 SL, bought new in April 2013. I've loved the car since I had it, and it was my wife's car for a long time. Perfect for getting about and super reliable. We live in Los Angeles, so temperate climate, always charged to 100% due to range anxiety. Battery has degraded to...

Harmonic airflow in cabin when window down

I find it truly amazing that people would just be discovering this effect, and blaming the LEAF for it. Dave

Changing the minds of peers on week 1

I hope he lives long enough to see the number of EVs on the road go above 50%.

Changing the minds of peers on week 1

Yeah a bunch of my peers are quite skeptical about it, but every one of them has been very pleasantly surprised after a test drive in it. Another favourite I've found is people saying that "green cars" produce more emissions by being made than normal cars. I guess I could kinda of see that for...

REFUEL 2013 at Laguna Seca [Update: Nissan will provide qc]

Fingers crossed a charger there would be awesome. I'd love to come along but it's quite an affair to get all the way up there from LA and back again. Might be an interesting road trip.. Does anyone else drive up from LA? Dave

    Modified wheel-leading air deflectors

Great point there. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automobile_drag_coefficient" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; has a bunch more suggestions for reducing drag, a lot of which it looks like Nissan has already addressed. Also is anyone here a member at ecomodder? I found a couple of...

    My new suspension installed.............Lovin It!

Looks great. Though I'm a bit confused, did you just install lowered springs, or did you upgrade the dampers also? If you've only stiffened the springs it would make sense for it to feel 'bouncy' as you could well be overloading the dampers. What wheels are those, they look great! Dave

Beef with Volt Alarm on Unplug of EVSE....

I have a 13 SL, there is no alarm, there is a lock. It has two modes: auto and lock. Auto would seem to be for public stations as it will auto unlock when finished. Lock is for your home where the charger might be street accessible. I really like this feature. Dave

What I learned in 2 years with a Leaf

Yeah that's really annoying. Thankfully my wife's phone will autopair, so it keeps her happy. :-) Dave

Stoaty's Guide to Energy Efficient Driving of the Leaf

That's good to know. I was actually going to have someone follow me to see if the brake lights come on. I agree that's somewhat dangerous, though you can achieve the same thing in a normal car if you're zipping along in a low gear.. Dave

    Modified wheel-leading air deflectors

Thanks for the input guys. drees/nater, great points. Wheels are definitely an important point, both the shape and weight. It would make sense to me that improving the weight would help more when accelerating (including negatively), but that improving the aerodynamics would be more worthwhile...

    Pictures

It's my wife and I'd first new car ever, we're both early 30s and have been driving hand me down beaters or 40 year old project Datsun for 20 years, and for the sake of a grand we wanted a good stereo and to not have to worry about it afterwards. Cameras are a nice gimic imho. :-) Dave
