Vorter said:What 0-60 times are you getting on your leaf? I couldn't find a single anecdotal report on Google or here that weren't the press or guesses. I did a rough stopwatch test on my '14 S and I'm getting 7-8 seconds.
I believe the 2013 with less torque is slightly slower?
LeftieBiker said:Supposedly, it actually has a faster 0-60 time, but is slower to 30. More HP above 30, I guess...I believe the 2013 with less torque is slightly slower?
It may not be fast but it's responsive... my ICE car is a 5-speed '05 Corolla which would certainly outrun the LEAF in a drag race. But around town it's a different story: I keep the Corolla in the highest gear possible for better fuel economy, and it takes time to downshift and get the revs up into the powerband when a burst of acceleration is needed/wanted. (Seems like there'd also be some time lag for an automatic transmission to downshift.) Meanwhile the LEAF responds instantly, and I think it would outdistance the Corolla for a few seconds in those situations. This can come in handy in traffic for merging or lane changes - those transient situations when speed doesn't really get that high but responsiveness helps a lot.TomT said:It is not a fast car to 60 and poops out pretty quickly after about 30

Same question for you. There's also some speedometer error (e.g. http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=12606" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false.Vorter said:cwerdna said:Should be in the low 10s. You're right. First time I tested I was going from a slow roll. I did a proper test on flat road and got 9.6s using a stopwatch. Media reports weren't tests, just speculation.
cwerdna said:ELROY, did you run your tests several times in both directions to help cancel out the effects of wind and elevation changes?

I doubt they were speculation. If they had an actual car on which they could run their standard battery of tests, why would they publish speculation rather than their actual achieved times?
I'd still run the test in both directions. GPS vertical accuracy isn't very good. It's better w/WAAS, but still.ELROY said:Same test section I use on all my 1/4 mile tests. Section is very flat (verified by gps, and Google Earth also). The speedometer reads 1mph fast on average compared to the Racelogic Performance Box unit.
The 2002 5-speed Corolla was about a full second quicker (16.4@86) than the LEAF in the quarter mile. Your LEAF quicker than that?TomT said:I'm not sure I would brag much about beating a Corolla...
