Just an FYI in case anyone hasn't seen this yet:

http://www.chargedevs.com/content/news-wire/post/nissan-sells-1000-leafs-six-months-ev-friendly-norway" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Over 150 a month is not bad at all...

I'm not surprised. I've always heard that Norway had high gas prices.

http://www.aftenbladet.no/energi/aenergy/Record-high-gas-prices-in-Norway_-and-thats-a-pretty-good-deal-2952715.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which I happened to dig up mentions $10.66/gal.

it's driven by several things
- fuel prices insanely high in Norway
- new car taxes also insanely high, but are zero for pure electric cars
- relatively good network of charging points in Oslo
- long history of Norwegians using the golf-cart-like Think Buddy electrics within Oslo
- in general Norwegians take to the "Golf class" cars, which sell very well, so no sales barrier there

So its a home run yes, but also because the sun, moon and stars pretty much a aligned on this one. Perhaps real question is why the others have not been offering electric cars in this size class before now.
