If the $219/mo payment includes tax, then your deal isn't so bad. Not great, but not terrible either.

General rule of leases is no more than first months payment and licensing up front. Large down payments on leases are not recommended unless there is a negative equity trade involved....
Also, have you considered 24m leases?

There are several high volume dealers in the Bay Area that can go at least $1500 below invoice, I recommend keep calling around....
Also, if you have access to the Nissan VPP program, that helps bring the price down further.

Unfortunately, I do not have access to the VPP program. I have a friend that does, but not myself or my husband. That doesn't help, does it?

It seems like Sunnyvale has a ton of Leafs. I will contact them and see if there is a $0 down payment option. Should I be concerned about the cap cost and residual value?

I was initially looking at 36 months for the $2,500 rebate.

My deal on 10/31

Atlanta GA (Stone Mountain Nissan)
Leaf SV (Base-no extras)
330/mo x 24 mo + 395 = 8315 all-in (Tier 1 pricing) NO VPP
Tim and Marla were exceptionally helpful.

Congrats, but the quote is pretty useless without # of years and number of annual miles.

Atlanta GA (Regal Nissan)
Leaf S with Charge Package + cargo/floor mats
24 months
15,000 miles
$0 down
VPP pricing
$279.56 incl all taxes

So, when we went in to sign the paperwork, we had to wait almost three hours to sign the paperwork. When we did, I noticed the Money factor went from 0.00003 to 0.00005. They fixed it, and claimed it was a "typo"!

After complaining about the wait and the change in interest, they are agreeing to get us the Cargo Cover at no charge, so I'm leaving happy when all is said and done.

Now, I'm designing a charging station for my wife so she doesn't have to work so hard to keep her new Leaf charged up! Running to home depot today to get some odds and ends before sending our cable to Phil!

Atlanta GA
Leaf SV with Quick Charge+ LED headlights Package + cargo/floor mats
24 months
15,000 miles
$0 down, $316 drive out (first pmt only)
VPP pricing plus hardwon additional discount
$316/mth incl all taxes/fees (even the 6.5% state tax)

Per 2 dealers, the summer lease deal is no more, and residuals are dropping due the success of the fall promotion. Have not checked this month, but supposedly money factor and residual both changed 11/1.

What dealer did you go to? This is much better than we were quoted for the same specs, even with VPP.

EDIT: I see from your other post that you went to AutoNation. I'll give them a call.

Ask for Jonathan, super nice guy.

May be hard to get my deal, but had another Cobb dealer offer $500 drive out, $329/mth 24 mth/15k for SV with F07 (quick & led). Top tier credit, no BS, that day deal. But on that one I bypassed sales rep and went straight to the sales mgr. Was also 1-2 days before the end of mth.

But I'm pretty confident I could do a 2nd deal in the 320'ish ($500 dwn driveout) range unless residuals or money factor got worse Nov 1.

To show I was serious with the dealers I had 5 Benjamin's in hand, ins card, company ID, had my (lower) offer written on 3x5 card. Told them upfront it would be below VPP, clean deal today.

Takes residual & money factor out of the deal. Let them figure out how to make the $$ work as long as the lease terms remain standard.

On your deal posted earlier, from memory the money factor looks very high, but I may be wrong.

Thanks! I already called them and they killed what I was quoted at Nally Nissan in Decatur (by $100 a month) over the phone and included a few more options, so we're already off to a really good start. BTW, did you get the Premium Package? I'm just curious if that's the only difference. We'll be concluding a deal this week, and they've been the most up front by a long shot. I'm in Marietta everyday anyway, so this works out great. I really appreciate you posting your deal! That was extremely helpful.

If you do make it over there stop by the sales mgr office and tell Bill or Larry the "picture" guy referred you. I had emailed them a pic of my offer and 5 Ben Franklins to get them unstuck. Which they thought was quite funny.

Here is quote I got, it's in LA and sales tax is 8.75%. Compare and you'll see what a great deal you got.

2013 Nissan Leaf S with quick charger color brilliant silver/charcoal stock # X680

MSRP $31,490 lease cash rebate ($8,150.00) NMAC 2013 LEAF S Lease

36 Months $2,500.00 drive-off - $288.26/Month payment plus tax residual value $12,568.00, money factor .00003 Acquisitn Fee 595.00, Document Fee 80.00, State DMV Fee 314.00, State Tire Fee 7.00 OAC

Here is what I ended up with:

2013 SV with QC/Led, Premium, Splash Guards, Carpets, Winter Mats
MSRP: $35,890
Final Price: $32,450
Rebate: $7675
L.E.V. 51.%
Residual: $18,303.90
MF: 0.00008
DMV: $160
Tax: $0
Term: 24/12
Cash Down: $1000
Cap Cost Reduction: $409.15
Acquisition Fee: $595
Adjusted Cap Cost: $24,960.83
Monthly Payment: $280.83

That price is basically VPP less $500, with the premium package and other accessories at invoice price as well.

Another thing; it seemed to me the rebate amount went up for November. That would make sense if they have a lot of 2013 models to move with 2014 models hitting the dealers soon.

I'd love a few other perspectives on the lease deal I'm currently looking at. It's nowhere near final, but this is the first time I've dealt with leasing at all, so any comments or advice on how much more to push for would be welcome as I'm still feeling out of my depth. I realize it's not as good as some other deals I've seen on here, but most of those seem to not be in my state. We do not plan on buying at the end of the lease, so as I understand it, I don't need to worry too much about MF or residual.

2013 S, no extras
Term: 36 months
Miles: 12k (more than enough for us)
Down payment: $0
Total monthly payment (incl taxes): $260

I think we may qualify for VPP but haven't confirmed or gotten a quote based on that yet. I also realize there will be document fees, etc, we just haven't gotten far enough with any one dealer to see them--I've just been calling back and forth to get quotes so far. Thank you so much for any help.

Your MF is your interest rate you're paying on the lease. So, make sure you're getting the best rate. On our lease for the Leaf, it was 0.00003. You can multiply by 2400 to see the APR. The Residual isn't negotiable, it's set by Nissan. You also want to see if Taxes are included, see what fees (like the doc fee) they're charging you, and negotiate the selling price of the vehicle too. Also make sure you're getting the 8150 rebate too in your deal.

Good luck! Make them explain every single number. :)
