Dilemma. I can apparently get an SL with premium pkg for a mere +$760 msrp price difference (even less with my VPP discount). For that small difference I get leather (prefer fabric and lighter interior colors), homelink, michelins, 17in wheels (not sure if that's a plus), solar panel spoiler, and anything else you get with an SL that you don't get with an SV. The SV has Premium and QC/LED Pkg and mats and another useless $225 extra.

Which would you choose? :)

I took SV because I didn't want leather. Never used homelink on '11.

Premium package is useful for the surround view. It is a real safety + especially backing when children & pets may be around.

I personally would go with the SV because there's nothing on the SL that I would want. Besides, the blue SV is prettier than the boring black/grey "slate" SL (I can't for the life of me understand what people find attractive in that color).

Well, you asked!

Speak to me about the value of the Premium Pkg. The surround camera sounds nice but I doubt I'd really need it or care that it was there. Is the Bose really worth it?

Do you want the Bose subwoofer taking up space in the trunk? Do you really care enough about the audio system in a car to pay that much extra for it?

If you have a chance, try playing some music on the standard LEAF audio system and see what you think. If there is a "premium" LEAF around you could also test out the Bose system. Most audiophiles I know think that anything Bose is overpriced for what you get, but the brand does have its fans.

It's hardly noticeable. The sub is ~3" in height and flush with the rear seats when folded. I've stowed plenty in the rear and the sub-woofer has never been an issue with space.

Back on topic, OP, did you decide?

As someone who wanted a slate BADLY but had to settle for black because there were none within 500 miles or so from me, go with slate ;) In fact, it sounds like you have MY car ;) I had the same problem with my 2 previous cars, just could not get the slate color for one reason or another.

The SL wheels also makes this vehicle look REALLY nice, I don't think I would have bought the LEAF if it weren't for the wheels, that's how much of an impact it had on me. The unit in the trunk isn't an issue, didn't realize it was a sub, thought maybe it was an amp, as the bass isn't THAT strong, but it's definitely not in the way.

I'm really enjoying the leather and dark interior, it makes it feel like much richer. The 2012 Nissan LEAF SV I test drove felt 'cheap' compared to my SL (nothing against the car, just an opinion).
