Does anyone know what format Nissan uses for the addressbook in the navigation system ?

I was hoping to import a POI file (forest service campgrounds, for instance) in GPX, so I tried to export the current addressbook to a USB stick. It seems to be an HLC file - addresses in ASCII buried in binary data. Gpsbabel does not seem to know about "HLC" and I can't find that on the web.

I have yet to pull the SD card and look on that directly.

Pulled it - impenetrable binary format. Why the heck can't Nissan use some kind of open standard ? There are far more charge points listed on plugshare, openchargemap etc. (certainly when combined) than the Nissan database, and it's not like navigation is some kind of secret.
