Awhile ago, 60 Minutes aired a piece on the Solar Impulse. http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=50136262n" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; looks like what they aired.

Solar Impulse is in Phoenix - later in the month they'll fly the Phoenix-Dallas leg.

Two public days will be organized at Phoenix’s Sky Harbor International Airport, on Sunday May 5th and Tuesday May 7th from 1pm to 7pm. They are all one-hour slots.

Yep, as soon as I saw the signup post, I found it full. Each hour slot is for 150 people. So I got on the Waiting List and received an email today to reserve a spot. I will see it Tuesday!

Happened to catch Solar Impulse on the DFW open public day. I dragged my kids along just so that they will get a taste of the future and watch history being made.

The whole machinery - which is barely anything except the huugge wings - is impressive. I am guessing all take offs and landings are planned only late in the night, past midnight, to avoid air traffic during the day.

Change in flight plans for Solar Impulse! If you live in the Cincinnati area, the plane is currently enroute to Cincinnati Municipal Lunken Airport and plans to land at about 9:00PM. It is then scheduled to take off for Washington Dulles Airport on Saturday morning at 8:00AM landing sometime after midnight.

We were hoping to see the plane here in Washington, but the information on the website almost makes it appear that only the "team" will be on display on Sunday afternoon. It's not clear. We'll see...
