I want to warn anyone looking to get a Leaf or looking to service their Leaf to stay away from Universal City Nissan in Universal City, CA.

The Sales staff is untrained and unprofessional. They bully you during negotiations and then give a car which isn't prepared properly. They only gave me one key and took a month to get me a second one. They didn't turn on the Carwings as they should have.

When I brought the car to Service to get these things taken care of they told me there were two Recalls needing to be done (these Recalls were issued 6 months before I bought it). While they had the car they managed to drive it in to a wall and oh yeah, get grease all over the steering wheel, seat and dash! This was a brand new car that was only in their service department because of the ineptitude of the Sales department.

I've been dealing with them for 3 weeks to get it repaired and get some sort of compensation for them damaging my brand new car.

STAY AWAY FROM UNIVERSAL CITY NISSAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, that's where I bought mine last year, because it was the closest, but I didn't like the vibe and I've never been back. I had a pretty good service experience downtown, and I plan on trying out Glendale next time.

You might want to simply file a claim for the damage on your insurance. They'll get you fixed up, and the dealership's insurance company should quickly fall into line once your insurance company gets on their case.

Leasing my 2011 Leaf at Fontana was a pleasure, but the distance precludes them from being a practical service location for me.

I've patronized and been favorably impressed by the Glendale dealership and the Leaf service specialist there several times; he is willing to go the extra mile. I plan to keep using Glendale as my first choice.

Visited both Universal City and Downtown L.A. Nissan dealerships - not impressed. But employees of both dealers are cooperative enough with their charging stations. BTW, Univ. City has, in addition to two outside Aerovironment stations (just off Ventura Blvd.), a third inside their underground garage, and they make it available to Leaf drivers.
