When we got my car, my husband noticed that the "rubbery" hatch release button in the back of the car is made from the same sort of material that is used on his 2008 Prius. Unfortunately, his rubbery hatch release material has semi-melted in the heat over the years (black sticky stuff on your fingers whenever you open his hatch) and he's wondering if we can expect the same sort of problem with the Leaf's hatch release. So for all of our AZ/hot temp owners... has this become a problem for you yet?

So far my leaf has been through over 45 days in excess of 100* since purchase. I haven't had the hatch release button get sticky yet. Not saying it won't happen later, just not so far.
