6000ft and climbing!
Considering that Oahu is 64 miles along its farthest axis, and half that from Waikiki to the North Shore (Hal'eiwa), a Leaf seems PERFECT.

Price of gas on the islands is almost $1 more then mainland, and although the $/KWh is about $0.32, bottom line still seams cheaper for Leaf.

It would seam Hawaii is somewhere an EV will be more welcome (grated the local economy is struggling somewhat).

How goes sales on the islands?

And yes, Porto Rico and Virgin Islands are also candidates.

Except that the low-elevation, leeward locations on the islands would be considered to have a "hot" climates, and, therefore greater-than-average battery degradation. Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands are the same, or warmer than Hawaii.

If you lived on the windward side of the Hawaiian Islands (like Lihue or Hilo), it might not be that bad.
