Along the same lines as Jeff. We have a 7.2 kw EVSE and I have found when I charge to 80% and the car is full, then hit the override button to start charging again, then turn the car on and start the heat, I will actually gain % as the car sits there, often 82ish. Basically the heater takes close to 6 kw all out then it start to modulate itself down once the heater core is "hot" and then the rest of the power starts to go in to the battery. But even plugged in to the stock 120 evse it is better than nothing as at least some of that heater power is coming directly from the grid instead of from the pack.
