On 5/28 we got a mail from Nissan - which promised a "touch" by June 30th.

What do you think we will hear about in the "touch" mail ?

Possibilities include ...
- Something about electrician assessment (which some have already got)
- Confirmation about your preferred dealer
- Details on warranty
- Details on leasing
- Test drive month/dates
- Details about priority process
- Actual ordering process
- Hitmen sent to our homes to make us part of history

I'm in Pennsylvania. I'll be happy if they just confirm they still have my reservation!! :)

Could it have already happened - the notification of the beginning of EVSE installation site survey reservations?

I met with my Nissan dealer on Friday. He did not have the warranty yet in writing, but said he heard it would be ten years. Then he said he wanted to see it in writing. I want the warranty before I go any further in the process.

I'm hoping for an individualized timeline:

- Test drive month/dates
- Details about priority process
- Actual ordering process and date

There has been some talk of letting people from other states buy from rollout states. Would you buy if allowed ?

I surely would do that if it was possible!

I was sure I had read that by June 30 they would give us an actual priority position number "within our market". What was less clear, though, was whether rollout start and rate would be disclosed for all markets. If they told us that, we could estimate a delivery date. Wouldn't that be fantastic?

Well? We got the letter for the charger sign-up. They'll be out to our house on July 2nd. I wonder if THAT counts as "the next letter".

Not likely we'd miss THAT appointment . . . July 2nd is part of the holiday weekend. And if I can't be up by noon, I don't deserve to get a charger assesment. And if a brand new 225amp main service panel (only 1/2 full) feeding 7.1Kwh of PV solar back onto the grid, then NO one's going to be approved.

That sound like me I just got my PV SunPower system in late April. I have a new 200amp panel little over half used.

No... but AV will likely miss a few.

This is going to be like trying to get Cable TV installed. In fact, Nissan compared it to satellite TV installation.

I'm starting to feel Leaf launch is the most complicated car launch in history.

How was the launch of EV1, Rav4EV etc ?

EV1 and RAV4-EV rollouts were similar, but on so much smaller a scale it did not matter as much. Only enthusiasts were involved, so meeting general requirements was not needed.

For the RAV the assessment was still required. But if you failed, you simply didn't get a car. (Yes, you could upgrade on your own dime, but it wasn't encouraged) There were, after all, only 600 intended for public consumption. Much more demand than product, so Toyota had to turn most people away anyway. They were very picky.

Same "sign up on the web" and "sales specialists". The salesman wouldn't even tell me the price of the RAV until after I had a confirmation from Toyota that I had registered via the Web. Although he did give me a test drive prior to that.

For the EV1 it was worse, in that they hand-picked who they wanted to have it. Celebrities, mostly. Influential people. My dad tried to get one for years and failed. House met all requirements, plenty of power, big garage. No EV1.

Still have not heard about home assessment even though I was one of the first to register. If I don't hear by June 30, I will contact Leaf live chat. But I am hoping that not hearing might mean that I will get one of the free EV project installations.....I am in Los Angeles. Anyone have any insight on all this?

I tend to agree with you...I think you're likely to find that you're now part of the EV Project.

new website for EV solutions http://evsolutions.avinc.com/ of AeroViroment, Inc.

lots of info about installation, etc.
