I have a Schneider EVSE and my car is not always charging. I've finally been able to figure out at least part of what is going on and I'm wondering if there are any suggestions on how to go further.
First, here's what happens in a normal charge:
-Plug EVSE into Leaf
-Leaf beeps once
-EVSE briefly displays it's "delay timer" indicator, looking like it will charge the car in an hour
-Leaf beeps again (maybe two beeps, I don't recall right now)
-EVSE "pops", and starts showing regular charging indicators
-Leaf shows regular charging indicators.
Here's what happens on a failed charge:
-Plug EVSE into Leaf
-Leaf beeps once
-EVSE briefly displays it's "delay timer" indicator, looking like it will charge the car in an hour (I think it does this - I need to pay more attention, I'm usually looking at the car)
-EVSE switches to it's regular "on" display.
When in this failed charge state, there are two ways I can get it to start charging:
1)Reset the connector. I've been able to get this to start charging just by "wiggling" the connector, but sometimes I have to unplug/replug
2)Press the "charge now" button in the Leaf
the #2 is the one that is really throwing me. I have no timers set on the Leaf (I've checked multiple times), and even if I did the fact that I can just unplug and replug to make it charge indicates it's not a timer issue.
My guess is that the first suggestion is going to be "what does the 120v EVSE do" - well, being that this is an intermittent problem, I don't know. The two times I've tested the 120v EVSE, it has worked fine.
Any other ideas/hints/guesses?
