In the automobile section of our Toronto Globe and Mail paper is an article / interview with
Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosen where he says they will start up production of Leafs (Leaves?) in
Smyrna, Tenn by the end of 2012 ..... to avoid the high cost of assembly under the high flying
Yen, and that this will go a long way to reducing the costs and make them dollar for dollar competitive
with ICE cars, WITHOUT government subsidies.
Good news / bad news.
This will get more of them on the road, but kick the hell out of our resale values.
