I sure hope Nissan becomes more active in trying to get better press for the Leaf. It all centers around range. I think sharing positive data on battery life/degradation would help and maybe future battery upgrades for current models?

Not too awful considering those guys are based in Detroit !

It seems like almost every write-up is similar. I think Nissan has the ability to create the iCar like reputation... Nissan has changed the game so far... The reviews are not pounding the table, however... I think they have the ability to steal the show.

Maybe they just cant.

You are likely right... I "hope" it is due to liability reasons and they are greatly sandbagging. At the same time, i think their image is getting damaged.

The article is so full of BS I could smell it all the way overhere in San Diego from Detroit. You could tell they are not very good with electric vehicles. I'm new to EVs and I'm averaging very close to 100 miles per charge, they said they averaged 58. That must have been some piss poor driving on there part.

This is a good thread. My impression is that the Leaf is selling despite of the press it's getting, not because of it. I remember an article TechCrunch published a little while ago. The editor lived in Flint, MI and his reporting felt a lot more objective than most. He even admitted that he initially favored the Volt due to its better range, but he changed his mind in this regard. It sounded genuine and there were parallels to what's been voiced on this forum.

Nice write up. One of the best by far.
