Looks interesting and it would be wonderful if Nissan could implement this in the US. I'm guessing access to capital isn't really whats stymieing L3 installation at this point...

If corporations are still willing to buy an unreal commodity, sure- why not!

They DID try to do it in the U.S. - regarding C02 - via grid tied PV offset values. The power lobby fought so hard against it, that it wasn't worth any company's time to spearhead it. Ultimately, it would have only represented a couple cents per unit, so it became a lost cause. From what I've read, the initiative in the EU is loosing steam too.
