Public charger étiquette?

This post is just FYI because it seems like a really neat solution. I just read this on InsideEVs (http://insideevs.com/tesla-model-s-70d-new-warm-silver-color/) and they had a nifty picture of a plug sharing card that I thought others might like to see. Pretty cool, huh?

This is probably inspired by the Charging Protocol from decades ago:
http://www.evchargernews.com/chargingprotocol.htm

I didn't think this info required another thread since we have sooooo many of them. Also, please don't reopen the PHEV vs pure BEV argument on who has "more" right to charging. Here are a bunch of other threads if you want to re-hash all that stuff:

I like these, but I'm expecting that some of the places I charge, some idiot would take them and throw them away.

I made these to put in the window when charging.

The charging spot hog was not adjusting his behavior as it became clear that the location was in high demand, and in that respect he was not showing proper EV courtesy. The note that he would move if needed was a good compromise.
That being said, if he was following an example set by Nissan, I cant fault him. I just stopped at our local Nissan dealer to charge. All 4 spits were filled though NOBODY was charging. One car was an ICE, one belonged to an employee and the other two belonged to to the dealership! The ICE was in front of the Chademo charger, so I asked the staff to help find the owner. They said they cant MAKE a customer move the car. Um... Ok. How 'bout asking anyways? They overhead pages to no avail. While I waited they asked if I have enough charge to go somewhere else! I asked if they could move one of their cars instead, and they did. The whole time I am thinking, if Nissan lacks the EV etiquette, how can they pass EV etiquette to the customers.

One either scenario arises where authorities do enforce charging use. Our City Hall has designated spots for EV charging, but ONLY if you are charging. Spots have side benefit that parking is free. Otherwise you pay the meter. The EV spots do not have meters. Giving someone the OK to unplug would leave your car without a cable connected. The police may not know much about EVs, but they know one without a cable is not charging. You could quickly get a very expensive ticket or possibly towed.

I can see leaving a card with cell#, but not a blanket unplug. If called and can reasonably stop, I can get back and move the car throwing a few quarters into the meter.

One more reason why Tesla does not want independent dealers. The dealers do not get it.

I just don't know where you could be getting that propaganda from. The dealers are here to help us consumers and keep our costs low. Why, if it weren't for the dealers, how could we ever be expected to pick our vehicle options and colors. Thankfully they have done it all for us and provide their expert selections on their lots, ready to go.

Thank goodness for the dealers who fight for the consumer and make sure we get what we need instead of what we want, at a fair price that is never actually known until the finance office.

I was thinking that needed a sarcasm font, then I thought if you have to explain it...

Hey, are you willing to share an electronic version of those window placards you designed? I like!

I used the free myparkingsign.com site. You can make custom signs on there and then download as PDF and print. I may have downloaded a blank one and put the color text on top of it, but I dot remember at this point.

Also made a nice EV parking only sign for my side of the garage.
